Emulation on DS?
Re: Emulation on DS?
Gameboy and NES are emulated very well on the DS. Genesis emulation is accurate and full speed(very impressive), but jenesis lacks horizontal scaling. So if you want to see the whole screen, you have to pan with the shoulder buttons. I find this to be more trouble than it's worth, especially if you're playing horizontal shmups where you need to see as far in front of you as possible to react in time.

There's also the M3 Real, which is the Flash Cart I purchased. A bit of warning for the R4, it is NOT Micro SDHC! The Cart's limit is 4GB. The R4i and the M3 Real can support up to 32GB.sevin0seven wrote:there's also R4 and R4i. but beware there is a lot of clones out there.Axl wrote:So CycloDS is the best Flash Cart?
I see there are alot of options. The other question is, what is a legit site to buy the flash cart from?
if your searching for a micro sds, i recently saw Target selling some for $9.99 for 4gb. good deal.
I bought from this site before: http://www.realhotstuff.com/

Re: Emulation on DS?
I have the Cyclo DS & M3 DS Real. They're both great and they both have the must-have feature (in my opinion) which is save states.
I also have the AceKard 2 which is pretty good but does not have save states.
All 3 of the cards are supported and have somewhat frequent updates.
I haven't played any emulators on my DS. I save those for the PSP.

Yeah, thats the one I bought. Its a nice Micro SD. I put movies on it and play them on my ps3 and yeah I'm ordering one of those cards for my DSi. I'm tired of spending money on games.sevin0seven wrote:there's also R4 and R4i. but beware there is a lot of clones out there.Axl wrote:So CycloDS is the best Flash Cart?

Supercard DS One also has save states, but I sold mine and using a DSTT right now which lacks save states but its dirt cheap on dealextreme.gtmtnbiker wrote:I have the Cyclo DS & M3 DS Real. They're both great and they both have the must-have feature (in my opinion) which is save states.

Which other cards support save states?
Consoles: NES, Famicom, SNES, GC, GB DMG, GB Pocket, GBC, GBA, DSI XL, N64, VBoy, NDS, 3DSXL, Wii, SMS, GEN+CD+32X, GG, SAT, DC, WS, WS Color, NGPC, XBOX, 360, PS1, PSone, PS2, PSP, PS3, 3DO, CD-I, NGCD, Actionmax, TG16+CD, TE, PCE-DUO, Odyssey2, Playdia, 2600, Lynx & JAG.
Re: Emulation on DS?
I got a DSTT and an EZflash 3in1. Works fine, I just have to make sure I use the specific EZflash tool to transfer my GBA roms to my microSD card otherwise they don't save.
Avoid the R4 and all of it's clones. The card isn't supported and it's a complete pain in the ass to convert YSmenu to it. I used to have an R4 and it was crap, plus they don't accept SDHC cards either (the clones do but they're trash and must be avoided). I simply just got a DSTT instead of putting up with the crap they are so cheap it's laughable the amount of shit I was putting up with with the R4.
The DSTT is still officially supported to a point. The last official firmware was January. There are plenty of unofficial variants of it though. Such as the recent one that added support for Bowser's Inside Story and Kingdom Hearts without the need for action replay codes.

Re: Emulation on DS?
I tried a Genesis emulator on DS about a year ago, and it was too slow to used. I think SNES was pretty choppy as well. I'm not too familiar with the situation, but I'd put good money on the PSP being a much better choice for emulation.
Re: Emulation on DS?
ive got an Edge for my ds. its basically just a copy of the Cyclo but has worked great for me! The NeoGeo emulator for DS is pretty amazing. you can get it here:http://groups.google.com/group/neods
also a good list of all the current DS Emulators can be found here: http://www.emuwiki.com/index.php?title= ... intendo_DS
