Re: 6 year old kid trapped in experimental hot air balloon
I shouldn't be surprised really. The first thing I said to a buddy when he messaged me about this fiasco early on with the parents not watching the kids around a filled balloon was 'awesome job parenting there'. And it just turned out to be for a different reason. Stupid liars. I hope whatever county send them a bill for the wasted manpower and time.jrod1986 wrote:Lolz......

Re: 6 year old kid trapped in experimental hot air balloon
Is it weird that I am terrified of balloons. Not the big hot-air type, which I think I would go up in without hesitation, but the small blow em up yourself or fill wit helium type. Not sure how it started. I think it is because I hate static. I was never one of those kids who shuffled his feet on the carpet and shocked people. I hated it. Maybe this is because, when I worked at Staples, they had these red, plastic totes that all the merch came in. After putting everything on the shelf these things would be stacked in hundreds in the back room. The static would be so extreme that you could feel it pulling on your clothes walking by and I swear you could here a wuv wuv wuv of electircity and feel it throbbing. When you got to close, the static charge was so huge that a lightening bolt would streak a couple of feet to you. Not a real lightening bolt, but that spark you see when you shock someone. Has anyone else ever experienced this. That shit hurt, but my friends would do it on purpose... sorry had a weird flashback there.

Well that was a waste of airtime.
If each mistake being made is a new one, then progress is being made.

hoax - something intended to deceive or defraudemwearz wrote:Whats the difference?Which I'm not saying is untrue, I just though someone was reporting that.
was it intended?
I didn't even know about this all until today. Good.

Consider yourself lucky. I would have escaped the spectacle if my buddy hadn't messaged me about it or I hadn't read it here. If you watch that last video that was linked in this thread, the kid sure seems to let it out of the bag that the family planned it for the publicity.lordofduct wrote:hoax - something intended to deceive or defraudemwearz wrote:Whats the difference?Which I'm not saying is untrue, I just though someone was reporting that.

Well it's pretty much official now. Police are starting a criminal investigation. Parents and all the kids were in on the hoax. It sounded questionable from the beginning but I hope these people get the maximum penalty (they won't).
Here's how it will actually play out:
1.) Tax payer dollars spent on rescuing a kid who didn't need rescuing
2.) News networks will interview these morons ad nauseum. (They'll get paid for their appearances)
3.) They'll appear on people or some other magazine, and get paid for interviews
4.) He'll get a reality show deal or at least some other tv exposure
5.) Someone in the family will write a book about the experiences
This is how these things always work, see below:
1.) Woman uses tax payer dollars to have 8 kids
2.) News networks will interview her ad nauseum (She got paid for apperances)
3.) Appeared in people and other magazines, got paid for interviews
4.) She's working ona reality show deal right now (or is it already on?)
5.) She's got a book deal too
