Hahaha, I was wondering if you were ever gonna say anything about that. From what I heard, you missed us by twenty minutes.

And yeah, Alabama never gets anything, so I'm not really surprised.

My wife and I saw it last night, now keep in mind my wife and I have researched real paranormal activity and have been to many known haunted sites around the U.S...So this is from a more of a believer's point of view.

Liked: The actual paranormal activity. Anytime something occured, it was done in a creepy fasion and was pretty spot on from alot of activity I've seen/heard. You knew something was about to happen, but you didn't have your standard scary music cue when something went down. Which raised the tension in my opinion.

I also thought the sound was very well done. People say you should see it in the theater, but I think that's only if you lack a decent sound system. Video quality wise you won't be missing anything, even if you watched it on a standard def TV. I will say its great to be in a movie theater just to see other people's reactions. Many thought this was a true story.

Hated:

The interaction between the boyfriend and girlfriend got annoying to me very quickly and I thought the girl was overacting quite a bit when it came to the relationship stuff. When she was terrified, she did a great job.

They also made the boyfriend out to be a complete dumb ass throughout the whole movie. With all this shit going down, why would you not be up for calling somebody or leaving the house? Especially near the end of the movie, he just looked like a retard. I'm trying not to get too detailed as I don't want to spoil the movie.

Freaky but funny:

I thought the ending was freaky up to the last 10 seconds. I don't know why, but I cracked up.

Overall: Not bad, way too much hype on it; but decent.

Yup. Spoilers ahead, click and scroll to read:

There were two original endings. Both are the same up to the point where he runs downstairs after he hears her screaming and is killed. In one, she goes back upstairs covered in blood, holding a butcher's knife, walks past the camera and slashes her own throat. The other one, she comes upstairs, sits next to the bed for several days until her friend comes by. She kills the friend and then continues to sit by the bed. Eventually the cops come by, and they shoot her when she won't drop the knife.

Both are OK. The first one is probably the best. I like the idea of her sitting by the bed forever, but adding the cops in seems stupid. Also the fact that the camera would continue to record for days and days is also stupid. The ending they went with would have been fine if they didn't have Katie turning into a Stephen Sommers mummy in the final second. Although I don't really understand why all three versions have Micah killed. Why does a haunted house movie need to end with a brutal murder?

I don't know what I'm doing for Christmas. I'll be visiting my Dad for Thanksgiving, and he lives just south of Atlanta, so I might swing by then.

I also thought the dynamic between the couple was not well done. And I HATED how she acted towards the end after something happened to her. If you know what I mean. I laughed out loud at the very end moment.

I was sooo excited when I was in the theater. I love these movies and being scared. So I dont know what happened. The execution was too obvious I think.

If you wanna be scared watch The Others that movie scared the crap out of me!
