If you would be happy with retro games the jxd1000 could be a good choice. It has strong multimedia capabilities and lots of emulators already built in. It also comes with 8GB of internal memory and is expandable via mircoSD.

Edit: Of course it is no PSP. But the media capabilities are a little better. If money isn't a concern a psp is still probably a better choice.

You could easily install cfw on a psp 1000 or earlier model 2000 if you buy the datel battery and make a magic memory stick. buy the battery and follow directions and youll be running cfw in no time....
of if you are in a city pay someone on craigslist 15 bucks to do it for you. just dont ask them for ROMS, as that would be illegal. If they are cool they will hook you up with that stuff anyway
