Things You Never Noticed Before About Games

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Apparently there is a whole AI system based around the nightopians and their reactions - eg they learn to fear you if you keep killing them etc. I've always been speeding thru the game to fast to really notice the intricate work that went into it though

Also when you're being chased downhill by the GUN truck Big the Cat pops up in on the side of the screen for a quick second.
Actually, Big has several other cameos in that game, always with something bad happening to him. Such as being locked in jail, run over by the GUN truck, strung up by his hands inside a generator, etc. Unfortunately, these cameos were removed in the Gamecube version for some reason.

The board also says REX on it. Double Watchmen reference.

Ok so this is only somewhat related:
Before I really started researching articles for here, Ive never really noticed how blind, foolhearty, and hatefilled most of the vocal majority of gamers are. I mean, I knew they were bad but I culled how bad in my mind until recently. I was reading an article about games that defined multiplayer FPS from 2006. Titles such as Doom, Quake, Tribes, Battlezone, and some others were on the list - you know your normal picks. The first comment was that since the list didnt mention Halo it was trash. Ok expected. The next few were about the lack of Marathon (a legitmate statement in that Marathon was one of the first physic engines in an fps and crafted modern Deathmatch and King of the Hill standard). Well the next 200 or so comments were bitching that Wolf3d wasnt on the list (even though it had no multiplayer), questioning the authors sexuality since he has obviously never played x title, and so on.

Now I have known for quite some time that the internet is full of idiots, but man alive. It makes me want to stop writing articles all together.

There are lots of things I didn't notice about videogames after quite a while of playing them, but I can't think of any that really standout - there are plenty things about Super Mario Bros 3 I didn't realise for quite a while; such as finding out that which way the mushrooms go depends on which side of the box you hit.

I remember that shark freaked me out when I first played OOT - me and many others, methinks.

I never realized how many idle animations Earthworm Jim has in his games.

Also whenever Jim is moving along a horizontal chain he uses his head and one arm to do so rather than two arms.

I think it's only in the sega cd version but when you hang onto a ledge and press down on the dpad he scratches his butt.

I got one. The ending song from Silent Hill - "Tears Of ..." is the same tune as Snatcher's "Pleasure Of Tension". I knew I'd heard it somewhere else before, but it took me a long time to place it.
