Pink Floyd, System of a Down, Led Zeppelin, Mindless Self Indulgence, Orgy, Aerosmith, Atmosphere, The White Stripes, Metalica, Julien-K, Wolfmother, HIM, Modest Mouse, Franz Ferdinand, and many others.

I really don't care much for mainstream music.

For someone who doesn't care much for mainstream music, you seem to listen to a few mainstream bands.

I'm also not one of those annoying emo kids that immediately hates a band the moment they become remotely popular.

They're not all emos. Most of them are Black Metallers or just elitist.

i have worked at a music/game store for two years now, HIM may not get much radio play, but its on MTV and the kiddies love it, pretty mainstream

I'll meet you half-way and say 70's/80's. IMO, Metal hasn't gotten any better since those two decades. Sure in the 90's there was Melodic Death Metal, but that was more than outweighed by the bullshit Metal Core that even plagues Melodeath.

Aaron- Cool. Phoenix Bodies are tight. I really enjoyed their lp "Raise the Bullshit Flag". I even sold a lot of those through my distro since it came out. My hope is that when I go to Raein they play Parte 1 and Parte 2, the two tracks from the split cd w/ Daitro and Lhasa. Those are my two favorite Raein songs. Plus "Tigersuit" is always a good time.

Both the song and the corresponding album; Madman and GYBR are both the title tracks for their albums. Out of all the 1970's stuff I listen to, those are probably my favorite, #1 and 1a respectively, haha.

My parents raised me on the 60's-80's. Really made for an interesting childhood in the 1990's when me and my peers would discuss our favorite bands...
