Surprise surprise.
I seemed to call it before anyone in the media did.

True, but they're running a business. "Small child falls from hot air balloon to death" is a much more attractive headline than "oops just joking, looks like kid wasn't actually in danger"

On CNN the bottom line scrolled "An estimated 1 billion starving, according to UN" while this garbage was on air.

Not that I didn't watch, but this felt like bs from the beginning, and there is actual news to report.

Also, check this out from the comments:

Jenny Behm-Majors:
"OH yes there is, if my 3 year old brother can climb a telephone pole that he had to jump from rung to rung to climb this boy can get in and play the "video game" his dad built him!"

Ever just wish there was a way to bitch slap someone through the Internet?
No, but there's this:

so it was a hoax after all. thats a relief but seriously, wtf. I kept imagining how 6 year old me would either be STOKED AS HELL FLYING THROUGH THE CLOUDS or SCARED SHITLESS.

Where are you reading that it's a hoax? From what I've read the kid was hiding in his attic in a box.

That said, stories like this always end up with some weird twist that makes you wonder what else was going on:

The parents are stormchasers?
They were on wife swap. . . twice?
An asian kid was playing outside instead of doing college calculus?

Your question:

Your answer:

Basically, the hoax was the kid actually being in the balloon, in danger. Because that totally didn't happen.

Ok, I thought someone was suggesting that the family was somehow in on it. Which I'm not saying is untrue, I just though someone was reporting that.

Haha, well done.
