Atari 2600 Jr Help =D

Post by Tercoil »

hey everyone i recently aquired a box full of random video game items for $35 australian, in this box is an atari 2600 jr with controls and an rf box but no power adapter, i was wondering is the atari 2600 compatible with any other consoles power adapter such as maybe a genesis? or will i need to go out and buy an official atari adapter?

Thanks =D

(btw i did try googling this before i came to you and didnt find too much help so i thought id ask you guys aswell)

The problem with that advice is that the "quit it" portion of the process becomes much more complicated after the "hit it" maneuver has been completed. Much easier to "quit it" before all else.

The 2600 has a weird power jack that looks like a headphone plug. You pretty much need a 1st party adaptor. Try Best Electronics.

Does it not specify on the bottom of the console or hear the plug?

The US 2600 was 9 volt DC, 500 mA, positive tip through a plug that's just like a mono mini headphone plug. Most multi-voltage plugs should handle it. I use one that's only 300 mA and it works fine. But I don't know if the Jr is different.
