I am very hesitant on the new Zelda. I am a diehard fan of the series and had to give up on Phantom Hourglass due to my lefthandedness being a hinderance. Which is ironic since the characters is the most well known lefty in the industry. I am going to give it another shot as soon as I get a stylus suggested to me by another lefty, but when it first came out I was just frustrated since more than half the time my hand covered the screen. I did think about playing it on an emulator instead, but that idea gave me Diablo flashbacks.
My issue with Twilight Princess is that it could have been such a bigger/grander adventure. The Mini/sub-bosses were much harder fights than the actual bosses (though the bossfights were very cool). They also took out the cool spider fight in the woods that was in the first promo trailer. It just didnt have grab for me.
As for Windwaker. I consider it my second favorite of the series. It gave you alittle of everything I love about the series and gave us quite possibly the coolest boss fight in the entire saga (the final boss fight).
I can't seem to force myself to be excited for the new Zelda

Hmm...I didn't play Phantom Hourglass, so I couldn't give an opinion on that one. I enjoyed certain things about Twilight Princess, and while I did wish for larger areas, my biggest complaints would have to be that I'm stuck with a Navi-like figure, that I didn't care for the wolf bits, boss fights were entirely too easy though epic, and I just didn't find the game very memorable for some reason.
I would like to take a moment and say that I enjoyed the sailing part of Wind Waker, if only because I really like to wander aimlessly in video game worlds, which is what I spent a great deal of time doing. I enjoy exploration a lot.

I disliked Phantom Hourglass mainly because of that goddamn temple. The dungeons were really easy, and I didn't like being able to basically Poke people to death. The only boss fight I liked was the one where you played from the bosses point of view.
Can't say I'm too excited over Spirit Tracks either.

Re: I can't seem to force myself to be excited for the new Zelda
I really think the zelda series in general needs a good long rest. They keep repeating the puzzles, and items every single game. Just once I wish for a whole new arsenal of toys to play with, and a whole new group of situations to use them at.
How many times do I have to get the boomerang, the bow, the grapling hook ect ect.
I wish phantom hourglass played more like the 2d zeldas.
Now I loved PH, but really I think with such a new control scheme it could very well be it's own franchise, and feel totally new

I don't see what's wrong with the camera, how can you complain about a camera that pretty much followed behind the entire time and if for some reason it moved away you could bring it back with a tap of the Z button. The camera was never once a problem for me when I played it. I think you have to bare in mind that the N64 only had one stick and 6 face buttons. If you use the C buttons for camera movement you lose 4 buttons instantly. The camera in OOT, whilst being an automatic camera (apart from the Z override) was a damn good camera for it's time, I don't think any other game did it better (apart from Mario 64 which had a manual camera - big difference) In fact I would go as far as to say that I don't think any other game has done a better job.ZeroAX wrote:Niode wrote:

but the dude in the first place didn't talk about graphics. he had a problem with the camera. and since mario 64 had a perfect camera for me, I do think the camera angle can be judged by today's standards

I really disliked the camera in Mario 64 at the time and found it constantly pointing in the wrong direction. It was awkward to adjust whenever I needed to. I did get used to it eventually. I think the camera in the 3d Zelda games is better by far and one of my favorite systems. Especially when it gets spun around in the wrong direction and can easily be brought back with the z-button.Niode wrote:I don't see what's wrong with the camera, how can you complain about a camera that pretty much followed behind the entire time and if for some reason it moved away you could bring it back with a tap of the Z button.
