I think its because we all want to remember the awesome Sega from 1990-94. Lots of other companies still kick ass, but Sega is so dead its silly. Every once in a blue moon maybye Suzuki-san will make something interesting. Too bad he's busy building a Korean MMORPG based on Shenmue we'll never see.

I think Sega stuff is one of the common interests most of us have here and it's not a very common common interest. The people on most other gaming forums are not likely to care about your Saturn. So if I have a Sega-related question or topic I'm going to make a beeline for this forum, which may make it look like I'm all Sega all the time.

i'll admit it in a heartbeat. my first console was a genesis, i begged my parents for a 32X (hah!), i adore my saturn and dreamcast more than any other console that i've ever owned. so many great titles and so many memories.

but i do agree that sega has kinda fallen off its rocker lately. they always have been kind of crazy but it worked well for a while. the last good sega game i remember playing was Yakuza, and i wasn't even really all that impressed with it. it was just better than the sega game i had played before that, Shadow the Hedgehog.

i also am a former SX'er but nowhere near to the extent of racketboy and lordofduct. those guys had like quintuple my posts haha. my favorite part of that board was when people would get in flame wars about the "genny emu scene!" and i'd call them high schoolers.

i sold a lot of my stuff that i wish i still had on that board. ahh memories..

Finally a forum that will understand this....

The last true great Sega games were all developed on Dreamcast. Sega was the BEST publisher in the world when they had intenal R&D for both hardware and software in one place. Once they stoppped that design concept they obviously couldn't keep up with creating software using alien developement kits. Rez, JSFR, and some other PS2 and Xbox games were nice, but mostly DC games with "next gen" builds.

Sonic Team seems locked in a time warp for the most part, whatever they are calling AM2 these days keeps pumping out adaquate VF and racing games. Nothing that changes the industry though. Its just fine though, it makes old school Sega crap that much sweeter.

Any of you that have been to Japan know Sega arcades are still where its at. I wish they had more random Sega swag and collectables. Obviously they have every game and music CD ever, but simple Sega shirts or Sonic stuff just isn't as widespread as you'd think.......S......Se....

I love my Sega systems more than my other systems, and I think it's just because Sega was gutsy when they were a console manufacturer and did things Sony and the Big N wouldn't dream of doing. Their systems kick but when it comes to exclusive games because Sega itself made more games at once than any other company. My favorite system is Dreamcast with Saturn a close second. My least favorite system is the PS2.

Punctuation is great isn't it? Sentences would be even better.

Yeah I also have Sega Bias in me.
It happened during the time when everyone was buying the Playstation and because I didn't know anything about the Playstation i went with Sega a brand that I always associated with gaming. Although during the Super Nintendo vs Sega Megadrive era I owned a Snes so I was a Nintendo guy however Nintendo was seemingly absent for that bout until much later on.

I grew up as an Arcade gamer so the Sega Saturns arcade conversions were really attractive to me and personally I can't say I was ever disappointed with my choice to buy a Sega Saturn over the Playstation in fact I enjoyed the Arcade conversions so much that I neglected the N64 when it came out because it just didn't have the type of games I wanted for me it had too many platformers.

The Sega Saturn for me was where it all started and it is my most treasured console and its also the console I have the most games for.
I moved onto the Dreamcast and for me it absolutely delivered everything that it had promised I mean the Saturn had arcade conversions but the Dreamcast was the turning point where games were not just good conversions but they were at least on par if not better than their arcade counterparts. It was actually a shock for me to hear that they would drop support for the console when they did I was thinking that it was doing so well why would they just drop support for it.

Its only recently that my Sega bias has started to shift over to Nintendo for the simple reason that when I was growing up I wanted to play Arcade games however now my tastes have become far more diverse and I want to experience new and innovative games where I believe Nintendo is at the forefront.

Sega will always hold a special place for me as I still love the franchises that were all available on one console when Sega were in the console business I really dislike the way they released games the last generation because it required me to have all three last gen consoles. Also most of their titles that i was waiting for updates to like Shen mue 3 just didn't get released and now just now finally Nights is going to get released on the Wii.
I've finally accepted Sega is now a third party developer but I have to say the best time in gaming history when i used to actually go out and buy the Sega Saturn magazine and listen to all the Sega Saturn bias it made owning the machine great even though everyone thought the Playstation was better I rarely buy magazines these days.
