I truthfully am trying to complete NES and Genesis. I want to work on others also.
I would like to hear if anyone else is trying or has completed a "set". Doing so myself has taught me patience LOL. But I want to hear from other people trying the same thing. I would like to see a pic or two of your effort, maybe I can get some ideas.
Is anyone trying to complete an entire game set....

Re: Is anyone trying to complete an entire game set....
I'm still determining whether to complete a entire game set on a system. The only problem I keep thinking about is that I don't want it to get filled with shovelware/sports titles. I thought about doing 32X or Dreamcast still may someday.

You mean every game on the NES? Really? Damm that's a massive amount of time needed, not to mention cash.
Maybe try a easier system with a shorter life span like some of Sega's (32X, Saturn, Dreamcast) and even then its a massive undertaking.

Unfortunately I can't post pictures, as the only thing I've got is a cellphone camera and that simply won't do anything justice, but after seeing Maximus_clean's amazing complete SNES collection, I've decided to go for a complete set myself, though I think there will be certain variations I'll have to skip(such as black label Final Fight Guy, since there's only two believed to exist). Counting the four carts I got in today, I'm up to 136 official Super Nintendo cartridges.
Of that set, I've got every fighting game(it was what I started going for first), most of the major Nintendo franchises, and many of the big name RPGs. I'm considering grabbing the three official first person shooters soon, and picking up more beat 'em ups and hack and slash games next, though filling out the rest of the RPG collection wouldn't be a bad idea, just expensive.

There's just too much shovelware out there for me to ever want to attempt a complete run. I just can't justify setting aside shelf space for rubbish like "Chicken Little: Ace in Action."

Sometimes the number of games isn't the worst deterent for collecting the complete collection. RDI Halycon had two games, good luck trying to find those two or even the system.
I'd say the Virtual Boy and the 32X might be the easiest some of the games are hard to find but they are attainable without breaking the bank. The Atari 5200 hundred doesn't seem like it would be too hard.
The ones I am going to try for are every N64 american release and every atari 7800 game. Anybody know any games for those two systems that might make it almost impossible.

Where's my chippy? There's my chippy.

ClayFighter: Sculptor's Cut and Transformers: Beast Wars Transmetals may be a bit difficult for Nintendo 64 releases. They were both Blockbuster exclusives, so they're not as common as your average 64 cart. Beyond that, he hasn't posted in a while, but Kingdomheights777 was going for a complete NTSC-U N64 set. I think he was within 30 titles of his goal when last he posted something about it.pepharytheworm wrote:Sometimes the number of games isn't the worst deterent for collecting the complete collection. Also, apparently Worms Amageddon fetches a bizarrely high price for a Nintendo 64 game: http://www.videogamepricecharts.com/gam ... armageddon

Although I haven't really started yet, I've been thinking about working on getting a complete collection of North American Nintendo 64 games.

Ugh...no way. Not with the money or space requirements.
Besides those two factors, I'd love to bring girlfriend over, showing her my complete sets, with her saying: "OMG! How neat! Now let us go take off our clothes!!"
Anyway, as others have said; too much shovelware.

This is how I feel too. Heck, I don't get around to playing all of the good games I have on each system.dedalusdedalus wrote:There's just too much shovelware out there for me to ever want to attempt a complete run.
