Ah yes, even though I've been falling out of gaming, its the franchises like Shenmue that hooked me and keep me playing. Shenmue III will always be a day one purchase if it ever happens regardless of what system its on or when it comes out. Hopefully they won't whore Ryo to death, but I'd probably pick up this game thanks to his representation.
At this point I'd be happy to read the rest of the Shenmue story as a book if Yu Suzuki was to publish it, just to see how it all wraps up.
Still, I'm glad that for the first time in years Sega have acknowledged Shenmue in some form at all and it also proves they do listen from time to time. Sumo Digital are awesome for making this happen, anyone that's still moaning at this point about something or another should shut up for a second and appreciate that we're getting this at all.
Why is Ryo on a motorcycle!? He should be RUNNING!
Kidding, kidding.
I'd lose my shit if upon finishing first as Ryo, the game suddenly cuts to him in the cave waking up from a dream. Shenhua tells him they must complete their quest and Ryo brushes off the dream as a subconscious culmination of his capsule toy collecting. From there Shenmue 3 plays out as planned, SASAR was a front for Shenmue 3. It is then that you realize the case art is reversible and is in fact this:

Put it this way...I've never been a major fan of Sega, and I don't much care for racing games, but even I know when we ought to sit back and appreciate something. And that right there is something to appreciate.
Sega, if you're listening, I'll even go play this game, just to see Ryo in action. That's how important it is to us.
