PSP import question

Post by tcpballa93 »

Alright, so I fell in love with the persona series, and I have a few questions. I want to know, if P3P doesn't come out in the US, what do I need to know about importation and where is the best place? I know play asia, but are there any better places? The other thing I need to know, is the PSP region free? If not, how can I get it to play Japanese games? (I am using a 2nd gen PSP, I don't really want to hardmod it)

Googling "is psp region free" will answer your question. The answer is yes for games but no for umd movies.

play asia and NCSX are the two big import game shops and are both very reliable. Then there's always ebay but you usually want to stay as far away as possible from buy it now prices.

I honestly wouldn't recommend an import of P3P, or any text-heavy RPG for that matter. The big selling factor of P3P over P3 or FES is that you get the girl's story, but you'd have to spend the entire playthrough with a translation guide in your lap. It'd be much faster to just read the translation guide, as the fundamental gameplay won't be different (aside from the battle tweaks like in P4).

Of course, if you can read Japanese fluently, that's a completely different story.

It is not confirmed, but it is likely. Persona 3 has a pretty big fanbase, and the addition of the girl's story will draw in many people who played through P3 or FES already (and the ones who did both).
