Right, but it does sound like a good bullet conservation method.

I find that my biggest problem is memorizing the rooms. I might remember, "oh I need to get back to that room that had _______ in it," but I have a tough time recalling which floor, which side of the house, etc.

Yes it works. I stumbled on a knife only guide on gamefaqs and that motivated me to use my knife more often. So far I've killed quite a few zombies that way, but don't try it when there is more than one. If its on the ground knife while pushing down but try to do it from its back because its difficult when its about to stand up. When trying to kill one that is walking do a knife, step back, knife, step back, rinse and repeat. Do a couple of practice runs to get the hang of it.

On the DS version since you have a knife button you can shot the dogs then run quickly at them as they are getting back up and knife them. If they take three shots to kill then shoot twice and knife to finish them.

I feel lost right now, almost cleared first floor and just looking for the unlocked doors on the second floor bumped into a big thing that ate me last night. Good thing because it was almost midnight. Need to find clues for the picture puzzle in the room with the crows, but don't wanna look for the answer yet.

Yeah, I've really been trying to play without any walkthru's, but I hate feeling aimless.

Well guys, keep in mind that certain doors that are locked will show up on the map, and if I remember, they'll sometimes show up in colors related to the key you have to get to open them. This is especially true of RE2 with the suit keys in the police station.

Also, I believe the knife can hit multiple enemies if you're fighting a group on the ground. While I haven't played through the entirety of any RE game with only the knife, I have done certain sections with it to get the feel for it, such as making it to the police station with just the knife. It's not that easy, but there are some dirty tricks you can do alone the way.

Hey everyone! First post, longtime lurker. Figured a heaping Jill Sandwich was a good time to officially poke my head out.

I think I will be running through this on DS this time around. I rather enjoy the spontaneous knife fights when you open doors. I wish that happened more often in games.

That is true, but what really counts in life are not the spontaneous knife fights in games, but rather the spontaneous knife fights deep inside our heart.

Welcome to the racketboy forums :)

@topic: I hope I'll have some time tomorrow morning to try my luck at the basement of the police station. Annoying dogs.

I've died twice after thirty minutes of play trying to kill zombies with the knife. God damn it.

There have been many times when I forget about that and run about the mansion from side to side then all of a sudden crap the stylus falls to the floor and zombies biting me.

Anybody know how are headshots accomplished? I've done quite a few but would be fantastic if I could narrow it down, would save some bullets.

BTW just got all the emblems and got out of the house.
