MrPopo and Niode - Great, next project will be N64 and i'll show you how to make a portable! :D MrPopo - sure, i'll do the SMS too at some stage, I have a couple of SMS consoles.

Yeah, but they're pretty pricey avg. $20-$30 + shipping on top of that most of the time here in the states!

Normally, PSone screens in the UK go for about £20-£40 each plus about £5 postage - the ebay seller in question is selling at the cheaper end of this bracket. $20-$30 plus postage in the USA for an NTSC screen is a good price.

BTW, FYI - the seller posted this to me (I gave her my Wordpress site link so she knew about why I use the screens, and a link to this topic):

sarah wrote:I like the Into Play :P - as for official PS1 screens i probably have 100+ sitting about atm, they are in various conditions, some as new with the screens protectors, some without and a few light scratches and some with a bit more damage to the case and some which have broken hinges.

Kind regards,
Sarah.

Broken hinges and scratched screens don't matter when the screens will be ripped open anyway, as long as the LCD screen itself is scratch free, no marks or bumps or bubbles on it. If you buy any PSone screens, always worth sending a note to the seller to check this...

Hmm, that sounds cool, but are these screens region free, or locked by display standards?

Sweet. Good deal for you if she'll sell you the hinge and case damaged ones for cheaper.

Indeed; mind you, I bought 3 screens, got 10% off the screen cost and about 1/3 off postage.... :D

I can't see why they wouldn't work they both support RGB and composite video signals. The connectors are the same on all models of the PSONE so they should work. I've not heard of anybody ever mentioning region regarding these screens.

Well, my screen arrived over the weekend and all I can say is it does not work if you have a modded Pal PSone and you try to play burnt NTSC backups. They work out of the MultiAV out but not on that screen, just displays the rolling video you get when you try to play NTSC games on a PAL screen...

Get the relevant NTSC2PAL patch from here:
http://www.megagames.com/psx/psx_patches.shtml

Follow the guide at the top on how to apply the patches. Apply patch, re-burn, should be golden. I did this all the time back in the day, when I wanted my NTSC PS1 games to work on my PAL only TV.
