october means a month of horror games

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

F13 is super frustrating. I've still never beat it. But I'm sort of the opposite -- as a big F13 franchise fan, I love the game just because it's a F13 game. Y'know?

Nightmare on the other hand I think is a brilliant game. 4 player co-op, amazing music, and a real world/dream world duality that incorporates the Dream Warriors' personas.

The end of October is for horror. October is for foliage. Any foliage games?

I see where you are coming from. When I first read about 13th in Nintendo Power, I immediately started saving money to buy it. When I saw the box in the glass case in our local K*B Toys (god rest their soul) I flipped. There was Jason, on a video game box. Awesome.

Then I played it. And played it, just hoping to see Jason. The first time I saw him, it was during the side scrolling part of the game. He was there for a flash and gone. I was still pumped. The next time I saw Jason, he was in one of the cabins. He was purple, and his mask was blue. I wasn't happy about that. I also felt so confined in my movements in fighting him. You don't really move, just lean. But I digress, you can nit pick the game to death, like any other game. I just had my hopes set high, and it didn't deliver.

That said, I'm going to give Elm Street a shot after work.

My F13 cartridge actually serves as a decoration in our apartment now. Right next to the big giant coffee table book that came out in 2006ish. The game has a special memory for me, much like yr own. And I can still hum the music on command. But yeah. It's way too hard. I never play it anymore really. haha.

But seriously. Even if I am the only one, I love Nightmare.

Yeah, I really wish I still had the box for 13th, who says rainbows and mass murders can't co-exist? As far as the music, I can still hear the *beep beep* car-horn sounding effect that plays when a cabin is attacked. Even as a kid, every time I heard that noise when playing the game I had to say, "Aww. shit.".

I'll definitely let you know what I think about Elm Street after I play it tonight.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre for the 2600.

I wish this was a good game. But. Halloween for 2600 was kind of fun, though.

Eternal Darkenss for the Gamecube is my favorite horror/scary game. After that I'd say play a Fatal Frame. I'm playing through the second one on the Xbox and I've been impressed with so far.

Hmm, try Flower for the PS3. You might have to strech your imagination a bit, but you may get your foliage fix from that.
