I currently have a soft-modded XBox1 and am looking into installing a larger HDD but I can't find any info on what HDD would work and what sizes are available (Or if I can use multiple drives - I keep getting conflicting info on this one).
I've searched around for instructions on how to actually change the drive but its looking more like Im going to have to buy a pre modded XBOX1 as I'm getting myself more confused the more I look so can anybody let me know any places that I can look to buy one should I chicken out of doing it myself.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Guys
Is there a size limit on HDD that can be installed on XBOX 1

I believe 2 Terabytes is the limit, but seriously, who would want to do that?
I reccomend a 500 gb. If you plan to store your entier Xbox library on it, it's the perfect size. Not too big so you'll pay too much, and not too small so you won't have enough room.

here is an xbox hdd compatibilty list

you can have up to a 1tbhdd on your xbox, but the most important thing to putting in a new xbox hdd is that you have your eeprom backup and on your pc hdd incase anything goes wrong.

I'm not sure what the size limit is for softmods, but if you go with the xecuter 3 modchip they claim you can have a 2tb hard drive. Although the problem isn't the compatibility with that, it's the heat and the adapter. The xbox only support IDE hard drives, and I believe the biggest IDE hard drive is a 1tb, which is very expensive. I myself put a 750gb ide drive in mine and haven't run into any problems. If you use a SATA hard drive you need a sata to ide adaptor and that's where the problems begin. I've seen a lot of people running into issues with the xbox recognizing the hdd with those. Your best bet is a 500-750gb ide drive depending what you want on it.

2tb is the theoretical limit, as long as you have a dashboard that supports drives >128gb (most should). I think that the first 128gb show up as the F drive, and the remainder as the G drive.
