Incredible, I know.
You do, actually. If you are a completionist, then you will have to play through all the story modes. Then, you'll have to play through all the character challenges.

Not to mention, if this is like SSF2T, Dee Jay will probably be the very first character you fight in arcade mode.

Useful to whom? DeeJay gets a lot of play at high level in prominent ST tournaments, regardless of "maraca cringe factor".

Either way, bitching about a character when final code isn't even on store shelves is close minded at best. Character design is a very small part of a fighting game engine (look at Ryu - the most generic and two dimensional character out there, cloned a thousand times across a thousand games). What matters is playability, and nobody can comment on that until the game is out in the wild.

And if anyone even starts to go on about character mechanics from previous games, don't bother. The transitions in characters like Dhalsim from WW (lowest tier) through to ST (highest tier) were massive, and shortfalls from one game do not necessarily translate to others. Again: perhaps comments on the "usefulness" of characters are best left until you've had a chance to actually play the game.

I'll wait and rent it from Gamefly and pick it up when it goes cheap, just like the current SFIV.

This is ridiculous. We all know what we really want from Capcom: Hyper Double Super Street Fighter 4.5 Plus Future Omega Tournament Edition Turbo!!

I know what I want from Capcom. Darkstalkers 4. However, I'll settle for Street Fighter III: Fourth Attack. Or maybe Pocket Fighter II: The Reckoning. Nothing less than that, though.

I'm cool with Rival Schools 3 and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure 2, if no one cares.

Why all the hate on Deejay and T. Hawk? They're my two favorite street fighter characters, no joke.

Mainly because they can easily be defined as "Blatant Racist Jamaican Stereotype" and "Utterly-Bland Native American Stereotype".

Which, granted, would make them fit right in with the rest of the Street Fighter II cast, but for some reason Dee Jay and T.Hawk are so much more cringe-worthy to me. Not to mention the fact that they are pretty 'by-the-numbers' as far as character design goes, and they are characters that completely stand apart from the rest of the cast.

At least Balrog is a part of Shadaloo. At least Dhalsim is trying to cleanse the world of M.Bison. They even made Blanka and Dan friends. Dee Jay and T.Hawk have no relation with any other characters in the series - they're just... there. Nothing would be lost if they never came back to the SF Universe.

Perhaps I'd be more willing to forgive these flaws if they were at least unique to play as, but when I played as Dee Jay, he just felt like Ken mixed with Guile. When I played as T.Hawk, he just felt... unusable? Clearly some Zangief in there, but aside from his command throw, the rest of his moves just seemed useless.
