How difficult is it to get yourself going?
Re: How difficult is it to get yourself going?
i'll sum my response up by saying that i've looked at the first page of this thread like 3 or 4 times before actually posting in it, even though i've wanted to. i had a big long drawn-out thing to say but i'd rather just be succinct, i have other things to not start doing.

Re: How difficult is it to get yourself going?
My wants are not confused with needs. Wants will eventually become needs (like an automobile) or fade away (I can't remember the last time I saw a pager).
People of the past seem to veiw change and progress as laziness. I myself am guilty of this I hate seeing kids with cellphones. One day though land lines might be gone and then a cellphone becomes a need. But on a whole we could live without a lot. Things we think are needs are just conveniences. We could all live naked and live off the land. Some say thats to far others not far enough. I say live and let live. I know quiet a few who will say why are you on the internet, this forum, typing words that noone cares about. They lived fine without computers and think we are whiney kids with are computers and our videogames and in a way they are right. Its a never ending circle it doesn't mean you can't despise things go ahead sometimes that makes life easier or in my case less depressing. In the end all we are doing is just letting out air, biding our time till our eventual demise, thinking there is purpose to our lives. Our generation has to be the best our time on Earth the best because that is when we are here and all we shall really ever know. We will be forgotten, maybe not soon but one day. Nothing last forever. "this shall come to pass" I heard that somewhere and it is a good saying.
I try to look at as many views as possible. I find that when you can argue for something you don't believe in then you can truly disagree, but a lot of times in the process the more you learn the more your views change.

My first statement was just a joke no offence ment. I too hate that christians can't embrace evolution and creation. Why can't they both exsist? I for one would never think I have the knowledge to say how it was done or not done. All I know is what I know. I moved out when I was 17 also and am currently 26. The only reason I am debating is because of paragraph three above. I see kids with cellphone, mp3 players, and what not and hate it with a passion. I really can't explain why I feel this way it could be envy, viewing them as lazy, or many other reasons. The day I can truly understand why I feel the way I do, why I do the things I do, say the things I say, I will be a god among men, with a true understanding of the thinking process. Till that day I shall strive for its grasp. I have a feeling death shall come for me first.

It's good you have reels but seriously would you really rather watch all your movies on reel and not just for novelties sake.

THIS is the shit I come to racketboy for. It's been a long while since we've been able to have a civilised discussion about such utter crap. The closest we got was fucking inazuma flinging his shit around about marriage.
These threads are fascinating...

Pephary,
Your right, dvds, or even my rips, are a far superior way to watch the films 99% of the time.
The reason I am trying to collect certain films on reel is that when you apply for the rights for a public presentation of a film, it is MUCH cheaper if you do it on reel than on dvd. In some cases, Gone with the Wind for example, it is about half. And this idea was based more on renting the reels out to smaller venues, like the Movie Tavern at Northlake. With proper promotion and planning, they could easily have a full house for something like bad 50s scifi, The Maltese Falcon, or Star Wars (though Star Wars prints are DAMN expensive). Even though you can watch it at home for free, it is an experience to do it at the theater, and to be honest, I am hoping to capitalize on that.

^^^
Movie Tavern has to be the cheapest Movie tickets in town. It still has a matinee. The average price for movie tickets now or days is around $9. Its good I can watch a movie for under $6 still, as long as you don't buy their over priced food.
It seems hard to perserve films, so we all know Fastbilly1 doesn't have much difficulty getting him self going.
