A lot of fans feel that Resident Evil 2 was the pinnacle of the series, so if you can't get your hands on the first but you have the second, go for it.

i just got this off the playstation store. just started it and im already out of ammo. FUCK.

So, what's the recommended version? I can play it on any platform besides Wii.

yeah- I've started this game on 3 seperate occasions. Every time I have to psych myself up with "this time i'm not going to shoot at walls"

I always end up shooting at walls.

note that I'm slightly biased, but still-- I've always heard (well, read) that the Gamecube version is pretty much the perfected edition. Most reviews you read of the Gamecube port will attest to that.

I've only ever played the PS1 and Gamecube versions. And it really, REALLY looks incredible on GC.
