GameCrazy signed it's own death warrant when it stopped carrying retro.
I mean come on, a niche store not carrying niche products?

Re: Game Crazy To Close Its Doors In October
I'm sorry to hear that. Some of my best deals came from Game Crazy stores. My favorite has already closed though. They pretty regularly had specials where PS2, XBox, & GameCube games were 3 for $10 and sometimes even 2 for $5. They had really nice customer service too. It's a damn shame, but I imagine it's hard to bring in money when your prices are that low.

I wonder if there's a list of which locations are closing.

Re: Game Crazy To Close Its Doors In October
Well, my Game Crazy closed a couple of months ago. They were having a "Everything under $30 is $5" sale, and they got rid of practically everything with that deal.
Granted, I helped them get rid of a lot of that crap, thanks to there being a GameStop right next to it that had a "Trade-in 4 Games and get an extra $20" deal going on. I did manage to get Psychonauts for the Xbox and Mega Man X Collection for the Gamecube to keep, though.
Aside from deals like that, though, they won't be missed. The store was always a clusterfuck, and their prices weren't as good as GameStop in most cases - sometimes even charging gross amounts of money for crappy shovelware on last-gen consoles. The only good thing about them is that they carried Xbox games after GS stopped, but there were hardly ever any decent Xbox games.

Re: Game Crazy To Close Its Doors In October
Didn't know they stopped carrying retro stuff. I guess I should have assumed but I hadn't even thought about them since I haven't been to one since about 2004 when I moved. Classic stuff was probably the only good thing about them vs gamestop. Although I guess they get points simply for not being gamestop. With Rhino Gone, and Play N Trades going under left and right, there won't be any brick and mortar stores to buy classic stuff soon. Guess the business model just doesn't work.
