Card Fighter's Clash for the NGPC

Post by dlmvii »

Just got my Neo Geo Pocket Color a few weeks ago, and Oh my god I love this game! It's all I've really played on it so far. Apparently the DS version sucks, or I'd be all over it. I've got about 200 cards, but I feel like I'll be playing for a long time to get everything. Plus, I have to know someone who has a NGPC, and the capcom version of the game to get all 300. Anyone else a fan?

My friend gave me his NGPC and a ton of games this last weekend. So far, I've really enjoyed SNK vs. Capcom and Metal Slug.

Since I never owned one as a kid, I'm surprised to find how close in quality the games are to GameBoy/GBC. I'm ashamed I thought so little of the system.

Also, I've got a little cable that goes from NGPC to Dreamcast, but I can't seem to find much info on it. You have any idea what it might be used for, like specifically?

I think Match of the Millenium can link up with some King of Fighters game to unlock stuff...I don't think there's a ton of stuff that supports it (at least not in the US)

The game quality is surprisingly high, and there aren't many stinkers for the system (though there weren't many games released here for it in the first place.

Yes! I absolutely love Card Fighter's Clash for NGPC. One of my friends bought me the system just because I used to play it on an emulator all the time. I am just hoping and praying that if anything ever comes out of the alleged DSi Virtual Handhelds rumors, this game will be at the top of the list. Card Fighter's Clash + backlight = amazing. :)

To answer your question, yes, the DS one is awful. It was the biggest disappointment (game-wise) I have ever experienced. How do you mess up something so simple, yet addictive? I'll save my rant for a different post...

If you feel like ranting please do :) I'd be interested in knowing why it's so bad. All I've heard about it is the freezing glitch in the first batch of carts.

im glad you like card fighters as much as i do! ^^ seriously my favorite game for the system. i really enjoy its sequal that has a translation patch out (of course you have to emulate the game ). oh and the DS version did suck. why? for one they changed game entirly, its not even close to how the ngpc games play. and the other reason its glitchy as hell.

This game is so fantastic. I really enjoyed the Arklay Mansion from Resident Evil. You could really tell they made that game for their fans. It's a shame the DS one fell so short. I still try to get myself into that game every now and again.

Heh. My NGPC has a front light, so it's pretty close to amazing. CFC is quite a nice game.
