which consoles are the best/worst on PAL area

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

On the PS2 all I know is we got nicer versions of ICO and Shadow of the Colossus, they were in cardboad boxes with nice art cards and better artwork on the cover.

Oh yeah, another thing is the spines on PS2 cases. They're all uniform, simple black background playstation logo and 'Playstation 2' on the top part of the spine and then the name of the game with a white background down the rest. Not as colourful as some of your NA releases but I definitely prefer the uniformity.

I've noticed that, Niode, though I see that on the PSP import games I have. It seems both JP and EU go with the white spine with plain text. Personally I don't care for it, but that just might be due to how it contrasts with all my US spines that are more complex visually.

I'd say Sega systems in general are better in PAL regions than they are in NTSC regions.

They just run 17% slower and have squashed graphics.......

Well that's PAL's fault for being lazy and not wanting to go an extra 10 times a second.

Is this still true with the new consoles? I would say that 60hz is pretty much the platform base so I see no need for the games to be any slower

It was'nt just the refresh rate but also the resolution that was different. Nowadays everything is in unified with 480P, 720P, 1080i, 1080P being used across the globe in both PAL and NTSC regions for both consoles and TV's.
Well that's PAL's fault for being lazy and not wanting to go an extra 10 times a second.
My point though was that SEGA did not try to fix any of the issues when bringing games across to PAL despite how massive the Megadrive was in Europe.

Nintendo have many PAL optimized games that run at full speed (or within a small percentage slower) were as SEGA didnt. That sucks for a console that is meant to be so mast faster than a SNES with its 'BLAST PROCESSOR' and what not when many SNES games seem to run circles around it because its 17% slower.

It sucks having PAL consoles if you don't have 50/60hz switches on them is my main point, but at least Ninty tried to fix it in some games.

one question i wanted to still ask about ps 1/2/3 was that do the games have differences where they were published. Like some nintendo games have no blood in PAL are but do have it on other regions?
