What was the last movie you've seen?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Sorry to hear that - I love Lee's stuff and was looking forward to finding the time to watch it. What's so bad about it?

Trick R Treat was really good. Maybe even great. Not predictable at all and destined to be a cult classic one day. Perfect movie for Halloween. If you can watch this movie and not be entertained something is wrong. Must see if you are a true horror fan. If you only like crap like Hostel and other torture porn, don't bother. :D

Uh-Oh, big disagreement. Watched Trick R Treat last night, and I was really disappointed. At least to me, it is obvious why this movie went straight to dvd, it's just way to goofy to be a horror movie, and not funny enough too be a comedy. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Better than the Friday the 13th remake, but no where near as good as Drag Me To Hell.
(No I don't like Hostel)

It's funny how different people's tastes can be. I don't care for Drag Me To Hell. I guess I should have noted that Trick R Treat is sort of a campy horror flick, the way they all used to be in the good ole days. Oh well, to each his/her own. :D

Luke, Have you seen the "Night of the Demons" franchise? What are your feelings about those? I'm just curious. They are one of my favourites.

No, but if they are on Netflix, I'll definitely add them to my queue. I'm always up for watching horror movies. Are there certain movies/episodes you would recommend?

I'm sure there has to be a bunch of horror movies we both like. I liked DRAG because it seemed like classic Sam Raimi. Totally EVIL DEAD style. Alison Lohman had huge shoes to fill, and she pulled it off pretty well. As for TRICK, I thought the campy vibe felt forced. It just played off as a straight to DVD movie. I'll give it a second watch though.

You a fan of FRIGHT NIGHT?

Yeah, I love Fright Night. I have never been a Raimi fan so I guess that had something to do with it. I don't like Evil Dead either. I know that is crazy for some people  . Anyway if you want to try out Night of the Demons you should probably just start with part 1 and then move on. 1 and 2 are the best IMO and 3 is OK. There is a remake coming out sometime but the old ones are what I am referring to.

They are very campy just to warn you ahead of time.

I guess I see where you are coming from with Trick R Treat. If I had gone into it expecting to actually be scared I probably would have been disappointed. But just for sheer entertainment I love it. I have watched it twice now and I really enjoyed it. It really gives me a nostalgic experience. It reminded me a lot of Night of the Demons, so you may not like those.

It's funny I expected someone to pounce on Beth Cooper.

I'll check them out for sure. The trailers for them are awesome, right up my alley.

South Park Imagination Land

Pretty good. I especially loved going frame by frame to see all the characters snuck into the title. I had no idea that Akuma would be there. Also, I loved the Religious satire

Just watched Surrogates.

Meh. Nothing good, but nothing bad either. Perfectly average. Perfectly Meh.
