Problem with Rock Band drum pedal

Ok, I've been with this problem forever, but since I just put Rock Band aside, I didn't even try to fix it. Now I'm gonna try my luck here.

One day, more than one year ago, I was playing Rock Band and the pedal just stopped working. It didn't break in half (I know their build quality is rather shoddy, but this wasn't the problem this time around), the game just stopped computing the kicks.

I searched the internet for this problem and found out that the circuitry must not be completing. However, this doesn't mean much to me, so I ask for your guys' help.

So, what should I do to fix it (if I'm even able to)?

Get a new pedal.

That is probably your easiest option. You can get the Metal Pedal for about $30. It seems to be pretty good.

I would just spend the $20.00 or so and buy a new one of better quality. I think they sell 3rd party ones of better quality.

Getting a new pedal is expensive where I live.

Plus, I've read the problem is likely not on the pedal, but on the circuitry that goes inside the drum plates (where we connect the pedal wire).

One time I opened one up and I saw this special sensor inside that was the culprit, I forgot the specifics but it was just a bad sensor causing it. Getting a replacement might be worse than buying a new pedal.

I would call the company up and ask them if they cover replacements.

Yeah, I'll probably just open the thing up and fiddle with the stuff inside, maybe I'll get something. There are no ideas anyway.

The problem is that I can't call EA and ask them to replace my equipment. I bought it in the US when I was living there, then a month later I moved back to Brazil and they don't ship overseas. Here, even a knockoff Rock Band drum kit is expensive, so I was hoping it'd be something trivial for me to fix.

Well weigh out the cost of repair, buying locally, and shipping to you. One of us US folks who can buy a quality pedal, should be able to ship it to you.

Great point fastbilly, I like to consider us all internet friends here and help each other out when I can just let me know if you want a drum set jfrost and I'll make it happen.

But do you think I should only get the pedal or it would be better to replace the whole thing?

I'd just get a whole new set since we don't know if its the pedal or the connections in the drum set. I can probably get you one for about $30.00 maybe cheaper with some patience.
