Harvest Moon SNES - PAL VERSION

Post by lukeo »

Hi all! Upon a bit of digging around in my basement, I encountered my good old SNES, along with many of my games, none of which have seen the light of day in over a decade.
With a bit of research, I uncovered (on the ever reliable Wikipedia :D ) that one of my old games (Natsume's original Harvest Moon, PAL version) may be one of the rarest SNES PAL games in existence .
I've seen the NTSC version go for quite a bit, but after an exhaustive search I've yet to find any indication as to how much the PAL version would be worth. The box is a little rough around the edges but the cartridge itself is in excellent condition and works fine.
I would be very thankful if anybody could tell me if this game is indeed, quite rare, along with a rough approximation of it's value. Also feel free to contact me if you're interested in buying.

Btw, here is the Wikipedia link. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harvest_Moon_(video_game)

Cheers!

Haha, what a coincidence. I was just talking about this in another thread. I've seen it on eBay a while ago for a lot less than the NTSC versions. I would have bought it if I had a machine that could play it. I think it's more rare than NTSC and non-English PALs though. But that's just from my experience.

dude, that box ain't in rough shape, it's in terrible shape. (ah nintendo you freaking cheapass money whores, you just couldn't make plastic boxes could you?)

it should catch some good money. this is one of the franchises that's been going a bit downhill lately (actually imo, after the superb in every way HM: Back to Nature for the PS1, the series run out of ideas), and the original snes game is pretty good. but then again it's on the vc now which might bring the price down a bit

Thanks for your help guys.
So you think it'd probably be wiser to hang on to?
I did have some very fond times with this game, after all
I understand there's not much of a market for an old game like this, I mean, how many people find themselves in desire of 16 bit PAL farming sims these days? =/

Wow, really?
Though (correct me if I'm wrong) I assume you'd be looking for the NTSC version.

Yeah, but if i saw any version of it for a reasonable price, I'd definitely buy it.
Plus, I just got a Retro Duo so I can play PAL games now.

Ah, I see. Well I'd be looking to sell mine at around the same price as most NTSC versions ($50 - $60 USD or so)
