It just took me too long to startup a fourm name. Though now it seems like Im a bit of a prick since I do not really obey the rules of the contest that I do not really have a reason to participate in. I mean the book is one of the best, but like many of yall Ive been in the game for sometime and I do not know if it can teach me any new tricks...I just like having purpose during the downtime at work. And the site is blocked by the filter so its a fun game of writing then hoping no one took the game, I do not believe in reserving titles. But really it looks like I just found the site and hopped into the competition, even if I have been reading it pretty much since the begining.

But I do still plan on putting an order through to you very soon. Granted I dont think you have the mythical DC to Jamma sets, do you?

Hey everybody its teh me!

I found this forum and figured I fit in. I have a decent collection of games accross 20 platforms or so. Alot of them are Japanese games or Japanese related gaming soundtracks and swag. After wandering Akihabara and Den Den Town I dream of weekly shopping spree's.

Lately I sit around sequencing electronic music with a Wii controller. Headed back to japan in August again. Going to climb Mt. Fuji. "Retro TV Game Revival" I am so ready!

Hi, Bookninja here (no relation to the commercial site)

I basically got on a retro Dreamcast kick and found this site. I'm keen on getting into imports and buying all the pricey accessories I couldn't afford back in the day. Just got an InterAct Concept 4 wheel and I'm loving the Test Drive Le Mans.

I work in a biology lab and am getting a Information Science (i.e., librarian) degree right now.

piracy accessories? what for? The dreamcast does everything strait out of the box... except imports which is solved easily with a free downloadable boot disk.

Pricey, not piracy,
Anyway, welcome bookninja!

Yeah, there were a number of forums I used to hang out on a lot.
Actually, I need to go visit some of them again in the near future.
This site just takes up so much of my time now :)

Hi Everyone,

This is my first post. I'm pretty happy about finding this forum after reading Racketboys defensive love declaration of retro games [why i am a retro gamer]. I feel the same way about many of the things. Except I like polygon games too.

A few single player game favorites of mine are Super Metroid, Snatcher and Quake 1. Quake 1 so much that I actually ported it to the Nintendo DS, it's still a work in progress though and I really haven't touched it in about 6 weeks- when I work on it it really disrupts my work haha. For more info on my quake port check out http://dsquake.blogspot.com/ . I also did a few things on the GBA including a boxing game, think punchout, I made for my sr. project at college. Also started another game with some friends but that was never completed- in retrospect it was far to ambitious. But the DS has quickly become one of my favorite platforms of all time, but I have always had an affinity for hand helds.

The other night I had a realization that there are some games I always wanted to beat but never did. The two that I am mostly thinking about and that I'm embarrassed to say I never completed was the TMNT 1 and Mario Bros 2 for the NES. I never owned them as a kid but I had enough friends who did so thats not really an excuse. I am almost too ashamed to live and call my self a gamer of any sort

I now live in DC I moved for work, I now work for Microsoft working on a health care software with a great group of people. I'm originally from Lapeer Michigan and went to College at Univ of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

I actually found racketboy.com the first time when I was looking for a DC VGA adapter about 2 months ago? maybe longer. I ordered one, and received it in a very timely manner, but honestly I'm not entirely happy with the product because it causes has banding in the video I think its because its not shielded and grounded properly I might order the one with the box soon which looks like its constructed better.

Some of the future projects of mine are well first finish DSQuake and I'm looking into getting into the Sega Saturn its a system I didn't have much exposure too and I think I'll probably ebay one up soon enough. Also I might try to design a new N64 flashcart, one that takes SD cards and stuff like the stuff for the DS these days... but this is something I probably wont start months from now and cant make any commitments just yet.

Thanks everybody,

Hi! I go by The Apprentice, and I collect old Sega stuff nobody in my home town wants. I have a Genesis (which I'm trying to portablize) a Saturn, a Dreamcast, and about six other non-Sega systems. Anyhoo, I never really liked the newer systems so I fall back mostly on 5th gen systems. That's why I'm here, because I don't know of any other good retro gaming sites. So it's nice to meet you all.

Hello,

Like many of the people here, Racketboy won me over with his passion for retro gaming. I stumbled upon the site when i was just hunting the net for some game reviews for older systems. After I found the hidden gems collection this site basically became my encyclopedia. Mix that with the fact that this site endorses my very same views on emulation and retro gaming in general and we have a combination for a definite fan.

Racketboy, you run an excellent site and really do help out the newbies without a pinch of that nasty internet elite-ism. Endless compliments my friend, keep up the great work.
