Congratulations, man. I just turned 22 last Saturday and it was rather sad. It's refreshing to see someone happy with the way their lives have turned out to be. And have fun in Japan.

Haha, that's pretty much how I feel. I've got a great (hot) wife, a job and co-workers I like with decent pay, I'm established in the community, know who I am and who I want to be. None of that was true at 20 and most not even at 25.
We should start a club.

So I hit 30 yesterday, and unfortunately had a shitty birthday as I was busy with work-related stuff from about 7am-9pm and was exhausted afterward. Some celebrations will ensue this weekend, though.

That said, I have never had a birthday "hit me" so hard. Maybe it's because I'm recently a father, because there are things I had hoped to accomplish by 30 that I haven't, or just general winter-time blues, but in any case, I felt the weight of all 30 of my years at once yesterday and it was not pleasant.

I've never experienced a birthday that make me feel so old, but this one, for whatever reason(s), did. And yes, I know 30 is not really old and people keep reminding me of that, but it is certainly a milestone that's harder to come to terms with than I thought it might be.
