need recomendations

Hey guys, what would you recommend as 1. an entertainment center and 2. a game holder. I am looking for decent quality, at a good price. I want to have all my systems look neat (few-no wires poking out) and fit all of my games on. I was thinking of this CD/DVD holder that I saw at bestbuy, it was $153 so I was wondering if I could go cheaper. Thanks!

Yeah, truthfully I've been interested in finding new ways to store my stuff, as I'm running out of space. I'm interested in what folks have to say.

I MIGHT get shelves, but I would rather get a full standing DVD/book case. I really need wire management. Also, it needs to be FAIRLY compact.

I'm getting wire shelving. It's adjustable, you can twist tie your cables to it, and it tears down to almost nothing.

Lowes sells a do it yourself shelving system where you can mix and match stuff to make a custom shelf. It's not enclosed with a back though so I'm planning on getting some stiff cardboard to attach to the back with some small nails. Most those bookcases just have a wood looking cardboard back anyway.



you can't really tell from that angle but the top metal pipes are 8" and the bottom ones are 12" so you can mix and match them depending on what's going on the shelf.

First off is this for your front/living room or another room almost dedicated to gaming?
If it's your living room I would get a box style entertainment stand with doors so that you can close them and it still looks nice.
I used to have this one http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/00033864 in my living room until I finished the basement, now its there. I also have a friend who has a similar one and he frosted the glass with some spray on stuff. It looks classy and you cant see the mess inside.
These type stands are great for big TVs and even to place under a mounted flat screen.
For storage in your living room I would go for a coffee table that has storage built in or what my wife did for the games in the living room - get some stylish boxes that look decorative on shelves and and place the games in them.

If it is a media room or a bedroom I would go with a warehouse look. With metal shelves like Hatta said:

It's for my gameroom, our family room has a nice stand that holds everything from ikea, that is where I play 360. My gaming TV is 32 inch, standard def, rear view projection.

Ye bastard! Give my TV back you thief! Ok, not exactly the same, but pretty close.

I want to eventually get some shallow shelves like Mr Popo has, but I'd like them to have doors and not just be skinny towers. I'm currently using some of these Atlantic wire racks.
