Ever just feel like something's cursed?

No you weren't. It was just a bad convergence of things. There's another post office the other way I could have gone to, but the workers there are made of molasses. I went there once and there was a line out the door and 2 people working really slowly... then one of them went on break. So I wasn't at that one because they suck. I couldn't mail Sunday because the DIY won't let you pick media mail. I didn't get it sent Monday because I got stuck at work until it was too close to 5. But above all that, I've shown that my car is an idiot magnet.

I didn't say anything when I sent the tracking number today. I just mentioned it in here because then my whiny story was tangentially site related.

But anyway, my car is still perfectly drivable and nobody was hurt. The other driver was honest, so hopefully all will be ok within a few weeks. I guess I just didn't get to vent enough to friends and coworkers today.

Yea I know how that is you start talking about your troubles and almost everyone else is looking for anything to talk about other than what you are dealing with, but sometimes you just got to get stuff off your chest.

Yeah gas mileage has just not improved a whole lot in the last 10 years. Hell, it hasn't improved much in the last 30 years. But look at all the weight and features that modern cars have. The base nissan versa has 6 airbags and would hold up to an suv a lot better than a neon (and definitely a beetle).

Maybe hold off and get the new ford fiesta (if you can deal with the stupid name). I heard they might be making a turbo version.

Yeah, I know safety features add weight. Though there's a lot less difference between a 99/2000 vehicle and a new one than a vehicle from 1984. :)

I actually had an accident in my previous 95 Neon. It was a frontal impact (which is easier than side I know) that totaled the car but I was fine and there was no damage from the A pillar back other than the airbags being popped. I know if I'd had the same accident in that 84 Colt I'd have been in much worse shape.
