I read the instructions..they want you to download xdelta. So i checked out the link to xdelta and xdelta has to be complied first before you use it and you gotta download some other files on their site to compile xdelta before you can even apply the patch with xdelta

If you download just the source code, yes, you need to compile it. But you can find xdelta binaries. Here's one link:

http://code.google.com/p/xdelta/downloads/list

xdelta is a patching program. You need to find the original image that you want to patch and the patch itself. xdelta takes the patch and applies it to the image to get a patched (or cracked) image.

Well I have the X-Delta executable and the patch, but the patch isn't an executable .bat file so I have no idea how to apply it to my image.

The patch isn't supposed to be a bat. You run xdelta and pass in the patch, the bin, and the output bin. Taken from the readme:
xdelta patch oyako10d oyakoj.bin oyako10d.bin

Whenever I run X-Delta I get a glimpse of a command line screen and then it disappears.

Sorry if I just can't seem to get it, I'm from the GUI generation so this stuff is pretty much like reading ancient runes to me.
