Here's the manual:

From what I can tell, it may not work. The internal modem port seems to be for incoming signals only.

Re: Dreamcast broadband with an old Airport Extreme?
Yes, the incoming 56k port is for dialling out and communication, it doesn't work the other way. It's not like a PC where you can use a PC's internal modem (or a usb modem if you swing that way) as a communication port and simulate a dialling service on your PC. The airport doesn't have that ability.
Unfortunately for those of us who can't afford the very few remaining broadband adaptors out there the only way to get the DC online is by using the PC with a modem method. Think yourself lucky NA you got a DC with a 56k modem, we only got a crappy 33.6k modem!

Really quick though, isn't it true that many Dreamcast games are dial-up only?Niode wrote: Unfortunately for those of us who can't afford the very few remaining broadband adaptors out there the only way to get the DC online is by using the PC with a modem method.

Hmm... thanks for the info. Any chance with a firmware hack? I've been busy this week and haven't had a chance to do some searching.Niode wrote:Yes, the incoming 56k port is for dialling out and communication, it doesn't work the other way. Probably not. I don't see why anyone would have created it. By all means search but I think you are going down a dead end. Getting a PC dial up modem is probably far cheaper and less hassle in the long run since there are guides out there for connecting a DC up to a dial up modem and bridging the network virtually.

Is there a way to do it with XP? Thus far I've only seen Windows 98.Niode wrote:Probably not. I don't see why anyone would have created it.
