I know it's none of my business how you choose to use your money but are you investing some of it? The economy still hasn't recovered yet, so if you invest in some things now, you have a decent chance of making money later when things improve. You might want to consider something like Dollar Cost Averaging for mutual funds.

Like I said earlier I dont get it all at once so there is not that much to invest in, But when I do get a job again I will start saving the rest. I am mostly paying off debt with the left overs.

I do have Zenki but no case, I also have Deep Blue Fleet, Chip chan Kick, and Pia Carrot. Pia carrot is the only game I have complete. I just have the booklet for Deep Blue Fleet. I really want Last Imperial Prince. I got it all togther when I bought the system.

I don't think you should be praying to get tied up and robbed, dude.

If things went down the way you describe, I can't help but think you could have held out for a lot more money from the court's decision. Maybe. That said, can I have some money?

That's why I suggested the dollar cost averaging. You can set it up so every month on the same day, it will automatically spend the same amount of money buying stocks. So when the stock price is higher, you will buy less stocks and when the price is lower, you buy more. Once it's set up you don't need to worry about it, and chances are you will gain money, especially with how things are today. If you can wait a few years, the stock market will likely recover and then you would have made a decent amount of money.

I started doing this myself almost a year ago with mutual funds, and already have quite a nice chunk of money in unrealized gains. The stock market hasn't even increased that much since I started, so when the economy fully recovers from this recession, I could sell everything and have nearly doubled my money.

So you do indeed have Zenki. Did you play it yet? How is it? The reason I'm asking about this game is because I've been watching the anime series lately and I own a PC-FX. I would like to buy that game some day but it's pretty expensive.

Zenki is great if you can get it cheap. On another system it would just be good, but on a system lacking action titles its great. It feels like constant boss battles.

Zeonik Freak wrote:I think i might have got wrongful termination, and of course im not the only one when it came to working at one of the Play n Trade in Raleigh.

Basicly, i worked at a PnT in one of the stores around the Raleigh area, and i was there a total of 3 weeks. Apperently i was let go due to "all of the managers" didnt think i was doing a good job and all agreed that i should be let go (which I found out that one of the managers didnt know i was fired till a week later). I got to talk to the owner of the franchise and basicly spoke my peace about it, and he made it sound like the job wasnt for me. The only complaint i had was i wasnt used to the system as fast as they wanted me too, and the fact that the owner was like "well this job isnt for you". Heres what i did when i worked there:

1. ran a register
2. talked to people
3. cleaned games

Thats it, and none of that was "overly difficult". Now get this, I find out the next day, behind my back, the owner hires some attractive girl to work there, A GIRL, who didnt know the difference between an Xbox or a PS2 controller (my friend called me up and told me this, and of course i was pissed about it). And she is still there today (but i heard she got better at her job, to say the least).

And im not the only person to come and go at that store, ive heard many have been employed under this person and are let go within their 90 day period. For me, its something that happend over a year ago and in a since, im glad i was let go. And for me the job felt to good to be true, but i loved every minute i was there.

Dude, if I had that settlement money, i would seriously open my own game store/PnT, and make more money...

Sorry to say there isn't much of a case there, especially if you're in an "at will" state. "Not being a good fit" is perfectly acceptable for being let go during a trial period. And I'm thoroughly shocked that a bunch of older men would rather have a young girl hanging around than you :)

In my limited experience, smaller game stores don't necessarily want someone who plays games on staff. They tend to be passionate and may steer customers away from certain (most) titles. So don't take it personally.

To reiterate what shallowgamer said;
Zeonik, unfortunately, because you didn't finish your probationary period (standard 90 days) they can terminate you for whatever reason they want whether true or not, you have no case. Also, pretty much any game company which is a franchise owned or corporate or whatever (IE not your average Joe Independant, barely covering his lease on his game store) prefer salesmen, not video game enthusiasts. There are exceptions to the rule, but they're just that, exceptions. They want people who will sell whatever will earn the store the most, which means most of the time, biting your tongue and selling that pristine copy of Barbie Horse Adventures, or 90% of the titles on the Wii to your average dumb consumer, and smiling while you are doing it. Games retail sucks, it sounds cool, but having to deal with dipshit little brats who are 14 screaming that they want Grand Theft Auto or Gears of War or whatever 18+ flavour of the month is and calmly explaining to the parent why you can't sell it to them because it's against the law but then being forced to sell it to the parent by the glaring eyes of your boss despite you not being able to morally justify selling the game to the parent knowing full well they're just going to give it to him anyway.
