Removing dust from beneath Gamegear screen protector

Post by jfe2 »

I dug up my old Gamegear from a box in the basement and was cleaning it up today, but I noticed that there is quite a bit of dust that got trapped under the screen protector... Does anyone know a safe way to pop the screen protector off so that I can get at it with a can of air?

The LCD assembly is mounted to the motherboard on the Game Gear. So you can just crack open the Game Gear and remove the motherboard and you will be able to use screen cleaner on the LCD and the screen protector that way if you don't have a heat gun to remove it.
