Anyone played House of the dead overkill?
I have to say I have been addicted for the past 2 days. Besides the stupidly annoying non stop swearing and overdone gross content I really like it. Once you can skip the movies after the 1st time though it's a lot better. The best pat is shooting the zombies.

Yeah first Wii game i bought i got the Bang bang box only in AUS =D
Re: Anyone played House of the dead overkill?
So did I. The gun shells in the Bang Bang Box really made it worthwhile. Played it from start to end twice the day it came out, one normally and the other in Director's Cut mode. It's really great fun with a friend, but the amount of unnessesary cussing is obscene (and I thought I was tollerant!)
Re: Anyone played House of the dead overkill?
It's actually my favourite HOTD since The first one (why didn't they put that on wii!?) The swearing is ridiculous but adds to the grindhouse feel. Shame it didn't sell better (it did ok in europe) I'd like a sequel or at least another original HOTD game. And yes the hand cannons that came with it are awesome.

Re: Anyone played House of the dead overkill?
The lag bugs the crap out of me. HotD2&3 and Ghost Squad are both near perfect. Overkill is utterly shocking.
Apparently playing the game off a hard disk (via homebrew apps) makes for a much smoother and less laggy game, although still not perfect. I don't have a modded Wii, so I can't vouch for it.
The lag made it feel less like a true arcade lightgun game, and more like some sort of point-and-click game. I've sunk about 2-3 good sessions into the game, but honestly I'd rather play Ghost Squad for the 100th time.

Awesome game, I loved the way they made it look like it was film with the scratched film filter and the bleeding colours.
I noticed a couple of times where the framerate drops slightly but It never got in the way of enjoying the game.
I thought the boss battles were cool although a bit easy since they drew a big red circle around the weka points.

I would totally play this if I had a Wii... I remember playing through a House of the Dead game on Dreamcast with my friend in high school. Fun game!

I enjoyed it but the lag gets me, especially in the carnival stage. Its slowdown without the powerup... I havent played it off a harddrive yet but that is a great idea.
Angry Woodpecker - aka the upgraded SMG, gotta love it. Though I will admit, I am more of a GhostSquad many myself.
