is it me or is there a huge part missing in mgs story?!

so ive played every metal gear solid(except the gb version and the ipod touch version), the only one i have yet to beat is metal gear solid 3(my copy was stolen a long time ago)

but does it really ever say what really happened at the end of mgs,obviously the meryl ending is what had to of happened,but how did otacon get out? i cant recall this topic being discussed


you play metal gear solid 2 and you believe that hal(aka otacon) lives because there is no sight of meryl and shes not even discussed(except maybe a line or 2)

metal gear solid 3 obviously doesnt touch the subject(as it takes place years before metal gear solid)

and metal gear solid 4 it doesn't discuss the events in shadow mosses besides the flash backs and what not snake has


maybe ive missed it...but i cant recall at all it even being touched...any insight?

Not sure if the Snake Tales on MGS2 Substance were cannon or not, but it explains that snake lived with Meryl for a while and things didn't work out, and later in that mission he meets her on the tanker.

Download Metal Gear Database. It will solve 99% of any problem you may have had trying to follow that amazing but twisty turny story
