Games that disappointed you the most.
Games that disappointed you the most.
What singular game disappointed you the most. After all the hype and waiting and excitement you get it home, pop it in, and BAM it is a boring P.O.S. Or maybe you didn't wait for it at all. Maybe the case/box was so awesome that you just had to buy it and the game ate the big one.
For me it was Lawnmower Man on my first pentium. It looked so cool until I actually tried to play it.
Mario 2 is a close second though.

Without a doubt Final Fantasy X-2 for me, such a massive let down. I really enjoyed FFX and to be given FFX-2 was like a bitch slap in the face.
Very closely behind is Monkey Island 4, what a piece of shit that is.

The first couple Sonic games after Adventure 2, until I got used to it. I generally try to wait on games and get a consensus, unless of course the game is SSBB or something.

Heh, it was Fighting Force 2 on the PSX. I thought that game was going to be like Syphon Filter and Fighting Force 1 had sex with each other. But there was nothing sexy involved. Nothing sexy.
Oh yeah, and Bioshock.

FFXII, especially after that mind-blowingly beautiful intro video. Then I found out I could basically beat it by doing nothing. Eventually I was only playing to stare at Fran's ass.

No More Heroes.
I am not a fan of it. Before buying it I really thought it would make the Wii better... and I still didn't like it.
I read the reviews, rants, and raves got suckered in but in the end didn't like it. The bad part was that I was sucked into the hype, since that game was one of the only ones not labelled as shovelware released at the time.
Have I mentioned that everyone else who owns a Wii liked it but me... Yeah thats why I am disappointed by the game.

I found Bioshock to be disappointing as well. It started out great but halfway through the game you knew you were going to fight the same types of opponents and defeating Big Daddy for the umpteenth time just had no real sense of achievement to it, much unlike Valve's approach with the Striders.dsheinem wrote:Really? Oh and the whole moral choice thing was hogwash. It was just statistics and two one-minute BINKs for an ending either way.

Re: Games that disappointed you the most.
There's a lot of reasons, but in short, I found myself constantly short on ammo and health, but to get ammo and health you have to either wander aimlessly, hoping to find them in miniscule amounts scattered randomly throughout the area, or else you have to use money to buy them. To get money, you also have to wander aimlessly in search, or else kill enemies, which means fighting with the wrench since you don't have any ammo. Since you also don't have any health, fighting with the wrench usually means death. Everything is overpriced, and to lower the price you have to play a tedious knock-off of Pipe Dream, EVERY TIME. If you finally manage to get the damn ammo/health after all that, you'll lose almost all of it fighting Big Daddies.dsheinem wrote:Really? Why?fingersmaloy wrote: Oh yeah, and Bioshock.
I guess that wasn't that short. It just feels like for every one thing you try to do in that game, you have to do like twenty other things that aren't fun. If someone can explain to me what I'm doing wrong when I play it, I'd be happy to know, but I'm at least decent at most FPSs.
