I like Larry David but sometimes the episodes are good and sometimes they're a real dud. There were a few duds last season like the limo driver/mc enroe episode.

IMO, Curb is better than Seinfeld ever was - it takes all the best humor from that show and amplifies it, but also adds something genuinely new (the improv that drives the show). Plus, it gets rid of the network filters on sexual situations, profanity, etc. - which allows for some hilarious bits that wouldn't work on NBC. Jerry Seinfeld's stand up schtick and his comic writing talents are both decent, but Curb has convinced me that Seinfeld wouldn't have been half as funny without Larry David's input.
Seinfeld wasn't what it used to be without Larry David the last season or two. Curb is Seinfeld without restrictions, but I'm sure hundreds of people have already said that.
I think this really sells the show short, as it's premise and it's actual writing and shooting process is fairly different from anything else that's been on TV. There are some similarities, sure, but as a fan of the show, I get perturbed when people summarize it as basically "Seinfeld with F-words."

For the office, I feel the same way.
I agree here, and Curb's best seasons were its first four - they were VERY consistent. The last two seasons have been a little more hit and miss, but a bad episode of Curb is usually better than a decent episode of most other comedies on TV.

What I meant was Curb doesn't have to stick to Hollywood restrictions, not cable restrictions. The show isn't hung up on catch phrases and good looks. They don't have to please a certain demographic. It's "Larry gets what Larry wants", which is what he deserves.
I had a pretty depressing day on Thursday, so the lineup was perfect timing.
I didn't like P&R that much at the beginning of the first season (I could have said the same for The Office), but it's grown on me.
Community didn't blow me away, but I see it has potential -- and I was kinda glad it wasn't yet another fake reality show
SNL Thursday - obviously just filler until 30 rock comes back. SNL hasn't been funny in years. They had some decent sketches during election time last year but that's about it.
Parks and Recreation - It's still alright. The premiere was a lot more "sitcomy" than last season. Which is probably good to separate it from being an office clone.
The Office - Still awesome. One of the best shows on tv.
Community - Bleh. The main character was completely unlikable. I didn't buy the hot chick's forgiveness of him. Seems like he'll be sort of learning a lesson and earning some humanity in the last minute of each episode, only to go back to being an arrogant ass by the next episode. I could have dealt with it if the show had been a lot funnier, but it wasn't. They should just give chevy chase his own show.
Jay - I won't be watching this on thursday nights since the Always Sunny is on at 10 but it basically feels like the tonight show an hour earlier. I'll probably tune in on fridays to watch the green car thing.
Also on thursday:
Always Sunny - still awesome
Whatever that cartoon was after Always Sunny - Made it through 30 seconds. It's just another "how offensive can we be" south park (in 1998) wannabe. I give it 2 more episodes before it gets cancelled.
Fringe - I'll be taping this one (yeah on vhs) since it's on at the same time as the office. Premiere was entertaining, lots of unanswered questions to be revealed throughout the season. Obviously we're getting a new female agent. . . not sure if we really need that.
Well, the DVR takes care of having to watch tv on certain days..so I can't really say what is a thursday show or not. These are the top picks from the Wife and I.
Dexter
Sons of Anarchy
Always Sunny
True Blood
United States of Tara
The Office
Weeds (Not so much lately)
Breaking Bad
Big Bang Theory
How I Met Your Mother - Season 1-3, We still watch but it isn't nearly as good.
Some that we loved but didn't make the cut:
The Riches
Testees (guilty pleasure)
Invasion - WTF happened?
Dead Like Me - WTF? The movie sucked though.
