how do i work my chipped moded x box?

was told the chip is a executer 4.something and told has bigger hard drive,theres blue light on side vent when turned on and chip stuck on side with green light and swiches that say from top 1.enable disable 2.protect unprotect 3.bank1 bank2 .thing is i dont know what these swiches do and dont know how to access the hard drive please help out if you can.

I'm not aware that there is an xecuter4. I have an xecuter3, and I haven't played with the switches, but my understanding is that they're just there to switch between different bios. I get to my bios by holding the white button when I start the Xbox. From there I can FTP in and access the hard drive, load games, XBMC etc. Once XBMC is loaded you'll hardly need to use the bios at all since it has its own ftp server.

As far as the switches go the first one should be obvious, enable/disable the modchip. If you boot the xbox with the switch set to disable it should work just like an unmodded xbox. Protect/unprotect allows you to prevent the BIOS chips on the modchip from being flashed by accident i.e. you can only program a new BIOS to the chip when the switch is set to unprotect. Bank 1 and bank 2 refer to the 2 separate BIOS chips on the modchip. So with the mod installed you actually have 3 options: boot the xbox with the mod disabled so it uses the factory BIOS, boot with the BIOS on bank 1, or boot with the BIOS on bank 2. Having 2 separate banks on the modchip just gives you more options like you can have different BIOSes for different purposes like linux and stuff or backup your factory BIOS. One of the BIOS banks will always contain a hacked BIOS that allows the bigger hard disk, boot burned discs, boot games from hard drive, etc.

Now with all that said if you boot with the mod enabled, 1 of the banks should have a hacked BIOS that boots into either XBMC or one of the hacked dashboards. Depending on what the other person did you may or may not have some games in the games menu and music, movies, pictures, etc.

In order to access the hard disk you use FTP which means the xbox has to be plugged into your network. Some hacked dashboards will show the xbox's IP address on the main screen or you may have to go in the configuration menu and find it. I suggest using CuteFTP as your PC's FTP client but there are many out there. Google if you are unfamiliar with FTP.

wow its even more complex than i thought i just want to play games saved on hard drive and maybe play online.i was told that you can play on x box live for free with this chip not sure if thats true?

As far as I know, with any modchip if you get onto Live you'll be permbanned. You can use tunneling services to use the Xbox system link thing over the internet, but not Live. Did you really not do any research before buying it?

no just saw it and brought it never had a x box before so i havn't a clue about them.
