First Hint At Street Fighter IV Sequel

The Official Japanese Street Fighter IV blog has a new update up that features writer Natsuki Shiozawa promising to make a more solid announcement about Street Fighter
IV sequel soon. With Street Fighter IV being a huge success, its not surprising that there will be a sequel, but this is the first hint from Capcom that we've gotten.

It's worth noting that a sequel doesn't mean Street Fighter V. They will likely do a Street Fighter IV Turbo/Supers/Dashes/etc. before going to Street Fighter V.

Street Fighter 4 "dash" has been rumored by many. Ono the games producers continues to ask for community input on the subject. I talked to Seth Killian ( US project head ) who said alot of things at Evolution leading many to believe the update is coming. Nothing official from anyone though.

It won't be a sequel at all though. Just a gameplay update similar to the SF3 updates. Fix some things, make some characters more fun, change up some mechanics maybe. I doubt we'll see any new music, backgrounds, or cosmetic stuff. All of that would be really spendy to produce.

I heard a rumor that the first update to SFIV will come in the form of an arcade update. The arcade update is supposed to contain all of the console characters and maybe a few game play tweaks.

Videogame title are just getting too ridiculously long these days. Let's just hope Capcom never tries to do a VS. game with Atlus or we will have titles like Shin Megami Tensei: Street Fighter IV Hyper Alpha EX Plus VS Devil Summoner Raidou Kuzunoha and The Soulless Army
