Audacity question

Post by jimmywicker »

Does anyone here have any experience with Audacity?

I've used it quite a bit, but on my laptop it's having some odd problems I've never seen before. It outputs to .wav just fine, but if I do just a standard save without outputting first, it loses chunks of the recording. Generallypieces of the first track if I have multiples, though it occassionaly happens with only one track present as well.

Any thoughts?

I use it daily, though I rarely use it on longterm single file projects, so I have never used the save feature. No idea what the problem is.

i use it a lot too, but i'm not sure how to help you with that. i know that if you record with low hard drive space the program starts freaking out. in any case, i would suggest exporting to .wav before saving, and save the .aup into an empty folder

I'd never noticed that before, but I've never used it on a mostly full hard drive either. This one is crammed, so that's probably the issue.
Thanks!

yeah, i think the "recorded" bits start disappearing when your drive space hits zero, and the error messages keep popping up. it should tell you at the bottom of the audacity window how much recording time is left on the drive too, so keep your eyes peeled -->
