Best 3d Sonic?

Post by shadobeni »

I haven't really played any of the 3d Sonic games much. Which ones captures what a Sonic game should feel like in 3d the best?

Considering how a lot of 3d Sonic games have been critically panned, you may also opt to select certain levels in a Sonic game that seem to best represent what a good 3d Sonic level should play like.

I'm partial to the original Sonic Adventure, but only the Sonic levels. (I'm looking at you, Big the Cat :x )

Agreed with everything said above. I loved SA because of the levels and the free roam. I didn't mind everyone's story that much but GOD DAMN big the fucking cat uggh! I got so frustrated that I didn't even finish his story. But enough of my rambling, I love both Sonic Adventures, but one the most.

I really enjoyed Sonic Adventure series on Dreamcast. I especially liked the first Sonic Adventure the best for 3D Sonic games thus far.

My vote is to SA followed by SA2, there has not been anything worth playing since Sega stopped making consoles.

Your question is pretty much which piece of shit smells the least.

I enjoyed SA1, but I thought the second blew it away. I played through the second one for the first time on Gamecube, and really enjoyed it.

I've got Shadow the Hedgehog on Gamecube and I enjoy it at least as much as the two Sonic Adventures. I played the demo for Unleashed and I guess it's not that bad, but it was only one level so who knows. Other than that the only other 3D Sonic I played was Secret Rings (or whatever it's called) for the Wii. HORRIBLE game.

So I'd have to say Sonic Adventure 2 is my favorite.

I'd say Sonic 2. It felt less awkward than Sonic Adventure, and the Chao garden was more fleshed out. Other than that they're pretty similar. Of course, both have find the Emerald levels, but at least the second didn't have fishing ones.

Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2 both have some fun gameplay and surprisingly engaging stories. Be sure to play them both. None of the other ones are really worth a look though.

For reference, Sonic Heroes was meh and so was Shadow the Hedgehog.

Sonic adventure 1 and 2. SA2 got away from that "hold up while you watch sonic run through things" "gameplay" and was a bit more hands on. The first couple levels of sonic heroes are alright too. But once you get to the completely cheap later levels along with boring "beat all the enemies to continue" segments that's the end of the fun.
