RF Switch halp.
So I recently bought a NES bundle from a shady guy at the flea market, with many different cables protruding through it, so me thinking and being a bit lazy, I failed to see that the RF switch was missing (note, this was through 3 normal controllers, 3 zappers, two joysticks, two nes maxes, and a advantage). Does anyone know where I can get one for free (or cheap)?

You mean the mini slider switch on the console itself, the one to switch between channel 2 and 3? If so, I probably have one that I could send your way for free. I'll look at my NES and see exactly what's needed, and check if I have one that'll fit.

You can use RCA composite video cables if your tv or whatever electronic device has them vcr/dvd etc and just use a yellow red cable or yellow white from the nes to the tv etc

Re: RF Switch halp.
When I turned my Genesis and Saturn RF's into composite cables, I saved the RF units (mainly for the switches), they're SPDT switches with the case groundings. I just opened my NES and found out the RF switch is DPDT, so sorry, I don't have a switch for you. The good news is that you can easily get a DPDT switch from Radio Shack for 2 or 3 bucks. They don't have switches with case grounds, but I don't think you need one (maybe some one can tell me different).
So here's the story...
Here's a close up of the RF switch in the NES. I labeled 1-6 for the contact points, and G for the two case grounds. A switch with a case ground looks like this. That looks exactly like the switch you need, only you need one that's right angled.
Radio Shit carries this. It doesn't have the case grounds, but it's right angled. If that switch physically fits, you can either leave the case ground out (anyone?) or solder a wire onto the switch's case and to both points G on the board.
Just some thoughts... If you can't find a switch that fits physically, you could always just get a regular old DPDT (not right angled) and attach it to the case, the use wire to go from the switches legs to the corresponding location on the board.

Definitely agree about using the RCA cables, you can pick those up for a couple bucks at a dollar store and your cost would be probably about the same as the postage. Even better you will have a lot higher quality audio and video from your NES.

Ok, thank you everyone.
I'll be sure to look out for them.
