Looking for a DVI + Audio > HDMI adapter
Looking for a DVI + Audio > HDMI adapter
I recently bought a new TV but it lacks DVI input. I've been using my XRGB-3 with VGA and it works fine but DVI would look slightly sharper. It seems that converting DVI + audio to HDMI is a lot more trouble than I thought. Is there some way to do it without spending hundreds of dollars on a bulky converter box? Thanks.

i don't think DVI to HDMI conversion takes much, i'm pretty sure a cable will do it. most TV's have a stereo jack next to one of the HDMI ports.

Need FreeMCboot? I'll install it on your PS2 Memory Card for free if you cover postage both ways.

Thanks for the link but it looks like the audio cable is totally separate from the DVI and HDMI cables. I want the audio to come through the HDMI cable itself.skate323k137 wrote:http://www.svideo.com/dviaudio2hdmi.html

Anyway, my TV does have a mini audio input. I'm currently using that with the VGA cable for the XRGB-3. But that audio port only works with the VGA port. If I switch the TV input to HDMI, it wants the audio to come from that same HDMI port. Unless there is some way to tell the TV to take the audio from the mini port instead.

Ok, I just messed around with the menus on my new TV and I found an option to toggle which input the mini audio port will work with. Right now it's set to the VGA port but it will let me change it to one of the HDMI ports. Thanks so much! Now I can just buy one of those cheap DVI > HDMI adapters and I'll be set. (^_^)

no problem man, I'm a residential cable guy so people always expect me to be able to hook any video source to any TV. it gets interesting some times.
