for authenticity's sake, i'd suggest the dreamcast version of code veronica. the ps2 code veronica is an inferior port.
as for the outbreak games, they've got gorgeous graphics but the gameplay is significantly marred by lengthy load times and rubbish AI. you'd do better with your time and money playing other installments of the RE saga, so i'd suggest outbreak only if you really can't get enough RE.

I wouldn't suggest the outbreak games, but i liked dead aim. I might be in the minority on that one though.dedalusdedalus wrote:for authenticity's sake, i'd suggest the dreamcast version of code veronica. the ps2 code veronica is an inferior port.

oh yeah, "dead aim" is excellent and underrated. it's one of those rare light gun games that actually does atmosphere correctly. resident evil kdid the light gun thing wrong in "survivor" though.nickfil wrote:I wouldn't suggest the outbreak games, but i liked dead aim. I am playing RE 2, it's great.
Re: what resident evil games are best?
yeah- atmosphere is pretty good in that game. It is also good playing just with a controller so don't feel like you have to play it with a light gun. The absolute best part about the game is that you have to shoot the zombies in the brain to kill them. They may shamble slowly to you, but if you hesitate or can't get a good shot in you are kinda fucked.dedalusdedalus wrote:oh yeah, "dead aim" is excellent and underrated. it's one of those rare light gun games that actually does atmosphere correctly. resident evil kdid the light gun thing wrong in "survivor" though.

I'm wondering which one is the scariest?
I've only played res evil 4 on ps2. It was pretty good but I found it too long and never finished it but it was pretty fun. It did have a pretty creepy atmosphere.
I played Dino Crisis on ps1 which I remember beating, not really that scary but it had its almost scary moments. Not sure if I would play that again as I remember disliking the "tank" movement and the numerous fetch quests.

Resident evil 4 is the best one in my opinion. Don't get me wrong the others are pretty good but they handle like a sim that boozed out way too much.

RE1, RE3, and Code Veronica are my favorites.

RE2 is my favorite. I like the Gamecube remakes the best but I played the originals also.
You need the play the original for the bad acting. "It's blood"
