How is this a farewell party? lol... you can't show up to say, where you work (<-example) one day and say "I'm leaving guys, Lets discuss it for a few days". That's not a party. That's an everybody come hang out with me and tell me how awesome i am please.

You should have just said goodbye and locked the thread or something. Seems like you just want all the attention that your getting

If your leaving then leave already .. if your not then stay.

I can't believe this guy just basically used the argument "I'm only a dick 50% of the time, if you don't like that there is something wrong with you."

If your posts are half negative we're just as likely to see you being a jerk as we are seeing you appreciate something!! Are we just going to forget what you say half the time? If you wanna be all "I speak my mind and if you don't like too bad" thats fine, but don't come back here claiming there is something wrong with other people when they find you overly abrasive.

Dude, stop being such a prick to him. He was a fucking great user, and he meant a ton to these forums; if you don't like the way he's handling his departure then just ignore the thread and continue conversation in the exact threads that have sickened our best posters so much while threads about somewhat meaningful and interesting subjects are left to the dogs. I completely understand why he's leaving; he's seen the forum deteriorate from a haven for actually educated and sometimes even philosophical discourse about video games and other topics into a collection of same-y "conversations" that mostly consist of lists, two-word responses, and playground-caliber arguments while everyone diligently watches and waits for the 1/3 of the time Mozgus says something negative in a thread to point it out and laugh at him, while completely ignoring the 2/3 of the time he says something constructive.

The tragedy of it is that I never really caught a whole ton of this supposed torrent of intelligent, post-modern conversation, but I've tried really hard to create some, and this only galvanizes me attempt to create threads of the caliber that the old posters remember, and hopefully the rest of the community to do the same. And if we are to achieve that level of conversation once more, I'll be the first to invite Mozgus back if he so desires.

this reminds me of several "i quit the scene" threads that i've read over the years. this is as yawn-worthy as i've ever seen it. just don't post in those topics, man. i didn't even read this entire 8 page abortion before posting this so i'm sure some sort of argument has erupted, though i don't mean to fuel that fire.

And look how well it worked. How often do you see a thread hit 8 pages in 16 hours around here? I also love how I've seen dozens of users say so many nice things, one after the other, while we've had you 5 or so grouchy punks repeatedly try to insult me and trash the party, in the process, only making fools of yourselves and adding much more merit to my opening words. Bravo. Please don't stop.
