See ya, guys.
Re: See ya, guys.
Hate to see you go man... but all of your reasons for leaving are definitely valid. When I used to just troll this board over a year ago until the time I started posting on it until now, the quality of discussions has really dropped off. I used to spend hours reading mostly every post, but now I usually just look at the topic titles and only check out 1 or 2 a day. I have also spent more time playing games lately than reading about them on here, which is a good thing.
Unfortunately, there is a finite amount of topics that can be brought up on a site like this, and as the site grows and becomes more popular, the quality of discussions will become more casual and repetitive.
Regardless, this forum still has a strong, loyal following. There are also plenty of reasons to keep coming back. The B/S/T section is usually a good place to find things and there are still decent topics a few times a week.
I feel you should consider stopping by every once in a while, instead of the finality of your current decision to never come back.
Without Moz someone else needs to step up and be the lightning rod here to get the discussions going. We need a villain.

Prepare to lose your grand. My word has always been gold, especially around here.
Big love to everyone else. I didn't expect this much praise. I thought for sure a solid 25% of the responses would be ugly.
I still wanna kick your ass

Nah just kidding

Yeah, shame to see you go Moz.
You were king when I joined, sure Racket actually owned the place... But you had the final say.
I guess there's only so much time you can give a subject until everything has been discussed, give 1000 monkeys 1000 typewriters. (That metaphor actually strikes a little too close to home on the internet)
Best of luck to you, I've heard knitting is a very rewarding pastime!

I'm pretty sure the admin told me not to start crap with you, so I'll leave this at:
Hope you're making the right decision, sorry the forums ended up the way it did.

While I can't say I'm happy to see Moz go cause he sometimes says some creative and funny stuff, I still don't care that much that he is leaving. Dude is the ultimate message board cliche and doesn't even realize it. Making a "this isn't dramatic" drama filled final goodbye post in which he scolds new users for not posting like the good ole days just proves that. He's overly negative, overly critical and while he's constantly whining about quality of posts it does nothing but hurt the board when he litters it with his complaints. While I agree that the posts might not be as good as they were when I started(which was only like 10 months ago so I'm no vet) I still see the merits in discussing something like "The best PS1 games for now" even though its probably been talked about tons of times on here. And I think there are still interesting people on this board and still interesting posts ie: the one about libraries closing down in philly, thats crazy.
Don't let this guy make you feel dumb for enjoying this website just cause he says something clever every once in a while and has a high post count. Bottom line, dude is a grump and would rather look for something negative to say than try and see the good in a thread, not a huge loss to the community in my opinion.

Not to mention I'm the one that started that thread to get people's opinions for an specific guide we are working on.

So that when you post the guide you can get comments about how you left off Mario 64.

I can understand the feeling of putting too much time in the forums and not having time for other things such as playing games or your hobbies. It takes time to read. I do appreciate the forums for having higher quality discussions. I do understand that sometimes topics get all talked out.

Re: See ya, guys.
i wonder if all this is because new users don't use the "search" function? GREAT JOB, GUYS! YOU MADE MOZ LEAVE! nah, just kidding.
i'm used to seeing these departure posts in the bell/save/try thread, but it's usually people that i just think "ah, whatever" when they leave. frankly, i think it's kind of dumb to make a thread like this one, but i guess when there's not as much to talk about anymore, it makes sense when you put it into perspective - at least for users like moz who contributed and helped make the site great.
moz, i think you tried to talk to me on AIM once in the early days of the forum and i was a bit unresponsive (sorry, that was just plain bad timing), but i always enjoyed reading what you had to say on the forum and i feel like we saw eye to eye on life-in-general. anyway, go play some games!

I've long excepted the fact that you can never please everyone.
