Sweet, thanks for all the help. Looks like that's an affirmative on the using two pads thing. Sweet.

IR pads gotten.

Can't complain, considering it's twelve-year-old technology.

Glad you got them. I love shipping within Japan. It's never more than a 2 day wait from purchase. I can even get most things next day.

Can you elaborate on your impressions on how the controllers feel and work? Do they have any lag? Do you have to have a clear line of sight between the Saturn and the controller for the IR signal to propperly transmit/receive. How much did you pay?

Thought I'd chime in since I've been playing with mine for about a year.

The controller needs two AA batteries so it has a bit of extra weight to it and makes the controller chunkier than the corded original. Nothing to complain about though, really. I've played shmups, fighters, all kinds of games with it and never noticed any kind of lag.

About transmitting/receiving-

I had my Saturn on top of a shelf about 6+ feet high with the IR receiver creeping over the edge. Because the IR receiver wasn't obstructed by anything underneath it, that worked quite well if I was sitting on the couch about 10-12 feet away. All I had to do if I had the controller in my lap was tilt the controller slightly upwards and the signal was consistent.

When I had it on a table about 4 feet away from me, with the IR receiver needed a clear line of sight. Since it was on top of the flat surface, the bottom part of the receiver was obstructed and had a smaller area to get the signal from compared to when it was on the bookshelf. As a result, I really had to point directly at it even though I was right there in front of it, otherwise the signal from the controller would be hitting the table and you get no action on the screen or your game pauses. Still no biggie though. It just sucks when you have to explain to someone who just wants to pick it up and play it.

Bottom line:
It's a great controller. Hell you can even use it as a TV remote!

I guess I'll have to pick a set up. I'll just pay COD because I don't feel like busting out the credit or doing a bank transfer.

Haha yeah as fun as wating in line at the bank during my lunch hour. XD At least I know how to do it via ATM so if I do need to do it I can. I still prefer paying the extra 500 yen just out of laziness. I AM SOOOO LAZY. XD
