Indie games to look forward to (I think) are Duality ZF and Cloudberry Kingdom (and Gust, if you are into that thing. Didn't really interest me much, but I can see how it could be liked). From your list, I'd say Triggerheart Exelica (that's assuming you already have Ikaruga). It's a solid shmup, with an interesting grapple mechanic.

Pac-Man CE -- Do not assume this is just Namco repacking old shit you've played to death. This is a new, fresh game. Play the demo, but play it several times right in a row to get a flavor. Check out a couple of YouTube vids, too. I have sunk dozens and dozens of hours into this one. It's awesome.
Rez HD -- This is how you do a re-release. If you have a big HDTV or good sound system, this is probably worth it even if you have the original.
BC: Rearmed -- This is how you do a remake. If you like the original game, this is a must. Some people can't get past the no jump button thing. And some people are missing the point.
Alien Hominid HD -- I bought this only a little while ago and I just love it. So much fun and so full of retro goodness. Check out a blog post I wrote about it for take on why I dig AH as a retro gamer: http://wordgamesblog.wordpress.com/2009 ... rd-person/
If you are a Gold subscriber, Puzzle Quest is on sale for 400 points this week only. I don't own it, but it's something to think about. The Lode Runner remake will be on sale for 800 points (from 1200) in another week or two. Shadow Complex is supposed to be straight awesome but I haven't played it yet. I plan to buy it after a finish a couple of things I'm playing.
And I said it in the Indie thread and I'll say it again: Avatar Golf for 400 points is great. It's easy and fun to play, and there's a cool community for it online. You can join any game in progress and it has a COURSE EDITOR. That means lots of free content from the community because the courses are all shareable online. I bought the first game, Easy Golf, and the courses people made blew me away. Buy it and let's play a round!

Pac Man CE is awesome. Easily one of the best games on XBLA. Completely addictive.

thanks dudes! i think i'm gonna go with castle crashers and avatar golf for now. i've played all the demos of the games i listed (except crystal defenders, it just looks neat). rez hd does indeed look and sound super good with my setup. i'll definitely take any more recommendations, you guys have never steered me wrong before.
