what do you think of fahrenheit?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Post by pureevil »

i compleated this game about a month ago and was inpressed mainly because its different and inertive.i have been playing games for about 26 years so i'm always looking for something different and fresh.was thinking of going through game again because theres alot of choices in game not sure if its worth doing?

i have also noticed since finding this game myself that it is in the undiscovered gems page of this site i would second that.

It's a crappy unit for measuring temperatures, and everyone should switch to Celsius and/or Kelvin.

(ok, ok I know you're not talking about that)

I've always been wanting to play this game, and to hear that is quite disheartening. Does anyone on here have some insight knowledge to this game? Who here has played it? Please share your thoughts.

I really enjoyed it in spite of it's flaws. I'm really looking forward to Heavy rain. Hopefully the few little niggles that I had with Fahrenheit will be fixed in it.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

I thought it was awesome until I got to that helicopter scene, which no amount of trigger banging could get me past. I think it's a bug.

I managed to finish it, and I got enough of those collectible things to buy all the unlockables on the first run. Beyond minor differences in the storyline(getting to ask different questions, altering events for a few characters), I don't really think the changes are that drastic: there's a common thread that is the main storyline, which you get no matter what. And considering the mood changes, there is a "correct" way to do many of the choices, as it's the one that makes your character feel the best.

Don't get me wrong, it's a cool game with some good ideas, I just don't think they were as deep as they could have been. But then again, if you consider this a stepping stone to future possibilities, then I find it absolutely necessary and look forward to its influence in other games.

While we're discussing this, how did people like Omikron? That's the first game Quantic Dream made, and was released on the Dreamcast. Is it worthwhile?

You know, I would debate this point, but first I need to walk ten feet to the kitchen and pour myself eight ounces of milk to hydrate myself.
